Airbnb is a great alternative to staying in a hotel. You can get more space, a full kitchen, and even a private pool for less than the cost of a hotel room in some cities.

Check your AMEX account for a one-time $50 statement credit by using your connected AMEX card when you spend $150 in a single purchase on Airbnb by 9/8/17.

If you signup for Airbnb with this referral link you’ll also get $40 off your first $75+ stay!

Gift cards worked last time there was an Airbnb AMEX Offer, though they’re officially excluded this time. If you try to buy one please post a comment if you get credited. You can save gift cards to your account and use multiple gift cards on a stay.

To see if you have this offer in your account just login to your AMEX account, click on any of your cards to go the activity page, click on “AMEX Offers For You,” and save the offer to your account.

You can use this link to access the old AMEX Offers interface, which many people find easier to save multiple offers with the multi-tab method.

If you also have multiple cards with the offer don’t rush to save the offer to your account!  Open up the Offers page for each card in a separate tab in the same browser.  Then go between the tabs to save the offer to each of your targeted cards.  Otherwise once you save the offer to one card it disappears from your other cards.

Always check all primary and secondary card offers, as secondary cards will often have offers that the primary card does not. You can add secondary cards in your own name to your primary login or you can create a new login for other secondary cards.

Note that you only have to worry about an offer disappearing from other cards when they are registered to the same account. Saving an offer won’t affect cards that have their own login.

If you mess up and don’t save the offer to a card you can always remove a card from one login and make a dedicated login for it to register it. Alternatively you can remove the card that has an offer saved to it and the offer will reappear for the rest of the cards registered to that account. Once you properly save the offer to all cards on that account you can re-register the deleted card back to the same account.

    I didn’t get offer on any of my 30 cards ;-(

    @Dan

    I can’t navigate to the page that holds the offers under the authorized user card in the new interface. Any ideas? I tried using your link to log in but it hangs.

  3. Ari

    Don’t see on any of my 6 cards (business or personal).
    Had it last time on like 8 cards, and saved a bunch on my vacation 🙂

    I got offers in 4 cards. If i am renting a house for $1700, how do i use multiple amex cards to get 4*50 off?

  5. Dan

    @DDfan:
    Do they have their own login?

    @Moshe:
    Try buying a $150 gift card on one card and see if you get credited.

    @Dan

    They do not. But they never did in the past either and it wasn’t a problem to get the offers for both cards. The interface I am seeing now is very new – around a week or so.

    Used Dan’s link to sign up and clipped the 50 off 150 amex offer –
    now curious, will the -40 dans link make me need to find a room for 190 a night to top the 150 amex requirement?

    I just booked an Airbnb well over the $150 threshold a few days ago! Dan, any way to rerun the charges onto the qualifying card rather than the Reserve Visa I used originally?

  9. lindnuck

    Actually, I called Airbnb and they swapped the payment methods, so this should go through. Thanks Dan!

    Do they sell gift cards?
    Sell value?

    do i get a HT for this?

  12. Barak

    The terms say one statement credit per ONLINE ACCOUNT. Does it mean we need to remove cards and create dedicated online login for each card that has the offer?

    Thanks, Barak

    @mareh: YOur total would need to be over $190, but it could be a multinight stay.
