Just about every Western Digital drive in my office has failed over the past 4 years. Some were still under warranty and replaced with other WD drives that failed within a year of replacement. I think they were the Caviar line of drives, but still, this shouldn’t happen, and hasn’t happened with other brands in my office (maxtor and seagate are fine).
from experience the WD passport drives have a very fragile motor, break easily. keep that in mind when u buy it, have ur data backed up somewhere.
