there are no direct flights to tehran from the US
it only works for one adult at a time, so if you have children…you cannot book them one by one alone w/o an adult on the ticket 🙁

It means birthdays are irrelevant on plane tickets.
The cheap price doesn’t work if you search for more than 1 seat at a time.
That might not be completely true. I was just held up yesterday for having my passport birthday not match the plane ticket info. I was taken to the main border control office and had to spend some time sorting it out. They flagged the inconsistency when I tried returning back to the US.

I am totally convinced that much of Dans flight deals to Israel are bogus, ie, maybe there are 2 tickets at the low price per alternative. I looked very early this morning at a number of the alternatives, for 1 passenger, and always, the fare was in the mid-$600’s.
Many people, including myself, have successfully booked tickets with a deal from Dan. Follow the details in the post carefully and quickly. Sometimes the deal will sell out very quickly – they usually start out on the forums so when they get posted on the main site people have already started grabing them
It’s generally a matter of speed my friend. Look inwards for reasons not outward.
Please remain totally convinced advice that will keep available seats for the rest of us who are “flying” proof that DD is the first site for all air deals.

Dan posted 14 hrs ago, and there are still $289 flights to Israel.
Dan doesn’t usually know how long a flight deal will last. Sometimes there’s a glitch they fix right away, sometimes they sell out right away, and sometimes they’re still available a day later.
You say you looked at ‘alternatives’ and they were much more expensive. That’s why these deals sell out quickly!
I have saved thousands for myself and many others thanks to Dan and his research. You win some you lose some but the plus side is always positive… I have flown for ridiculous prices thanks to Dan (twice I even made money due to getting bumped)… On this particular fare – it is now February 20 and there are still tickets at these prices…

As with Belgrade..they have a great Chabad house..been there twice.
There is enough to do there for 1 day. Some castles..bombed buildings..museums etc.

Only airlines that give 2 bags to TLV are Turkish, Aeroflot, Ukrainian and Azerbaijan. (Royal Jordanian on higher fare classes)

You were wrong. It’s allowed. Airlines can’t charge a fee, but travel agents can.

Dan you are accurate as always! I just called to add 2 infants to my flight and asked about the hotel night-free and the rep told me that it is only if you book through them-this was booked their partner Etihad. Would you know if Etihad would give a free night?

According to Air Serbia, the tickets I bought (9 tix 4/6 to 4/19 through Chase – 19,000 pts.) are actually from “Etihad stock”. So I guess Etihad has access to a certain number of Air Serbia tickets, and those are the ones that are selling so cheap on Chase/trip.com/skyscanner. That’s also the reason Air Serbia gave why they won’t provide lodging during stopover.

I booked a ticket through the Chase UR portal, and then decided to buy another one on different dates. I couldn’t cancel the first one online, but I called, and the agent took care of it. It’s a long and drawn-out process on the phone, however.
Presumably the same would apply through Expedia if you don’t have a Chase UR card or don’t want to pay with UR points.
(The catch when booking through Chase/Expedia is that the flight will initially show up with a price tag of $700.35. When you select your flights, if you’re lucky, it will drop to $270.35. No, I couldn’t get it all the way down to $258 on the dates I was looking at, but I won’t quibble over $12.)

According to airfleets. Net, Air Serbia has only ONE aircraft that can fly transatlantic – an A330. The rest of the would assume that’s why you have to stay overnight as you are waiting for the aircraft to come back from NYC – it arrives in the early morning and heads right back to JFK 2 hours later.
FR24 shows the flight being operated exclusively by this frame. None of the other aircraft are ETOPS capable So my question is do they have interline agreements should this aircraft unexpectedly go out of service.
I do not want to rain on anyone’s parade, but I don’t want to be stranded. Does anyone have info on this?
On the other hand, if these fares extend into the summer, I’ll risk it…..

Just got one from May 4-17 for $294. Had to try a few times. The first couple of times, Trip.com said that there weren’t any left at that price, that Skyscanner showed.
There was only 1 available ticket for my dates, but I booked 1 ticket from 2 separate browsers at one time and they both went through!

Thanks Dan! After weeks of resisting I finally succumbed. I booked 8 tickets for May 11-17th for a total of $2,214.32 through the Chase UR travel portal. Some advantages of booking through Chase: 1) You can use points (but you don’t have to – you can use a credit card for the full amount if you want), 2) you can book multiple passengers on one reservation, including children, 3) this means you don’t have to add 100 years to the age of children, which worries me (notwithstanding that you do this all the time), 4) you get the children’s rates on children’s tickets (in my case, $253, rather than $300), and 5) the Chase site prominently displays that you have 24 hours to cancel.
You can only book 6 people per reservation, so I broke up my family into two groups. I proceeded to the final screen that had the booking button in two separate tabs for the two groups and then I clicked the button to book in the two tabs within a couple of seconds of each other. Each booking went through.

I ignored it and said okay “f” it I’ll find something else already… (did not try again nor contacted them)
Woke up this morning and I got a new email from trip.com saying my booking is confirmed and here is my flight ticket.
I’m happy I got a ticket for that price, but a bit confused why I got a cancelation email yesterday and a confirmed email today.

Guys, my experience in having tried for days unsuccessfully then was able to snag 5 tickets in a row… try late at night, or even when people are having dinner (or in their words when the whole world isn’t trying as well).
I wasn’t a believer, but I am now! 5 tickets for under $1,300!!!!
So for a family of five with three children ages 9,4, and 3 I had to book each passenger on a separate reservation. Of course I had to change the birth year of my child so they can be booked alone. Now if I wish to choose seats Air Serbia charges $50 per passenger per flight. If I wait until the airport I run the risk of having everyone sit separately. I know by law families can’t be separated but on their system my young children shown as adults. What have other families with young children doing?

Yes. I called Trip.com. The agent mentioned they don’t handle seating assignment or requests. Only Air Serbia does. Tried HUCA and received the same response. Hope this isn’t one of those deeply discounted economy tickets that will charge for checked bags and seats

I booked April 6-19 I got many different requests fulfilled by emailing their call center- callcenter@airserbia.com I actually got two free extra legroom seats because we will be traveling with two children in need of a bassinet. They do respond only after 24-48 hours.

I booked 7 Adults on one reservation by adding passengers before checkout on Trip.com & then I called and added two children under 2 years old- BTW they do pick up phones pretty quickly- just those reps on phone cannot do as much as the “call center” can.

Sorry- I didn’t explain what I meant clearly. I did what Dan advises to do when you have these good deals and that is “Always search for 1 seat and then work the search up to the number of seats you need in order to book as many seats on sale as you can”

My concern was having everyone sit together as we’re a family of 3 young children. Trip.com doesn’t handle seating assignments. Air Sergia charges for any seat selections regardless of what kind of seat is chosen

How old are your children? If they are old enough to sit alone and you don’t care to have everyone sit together than this wouldn’t pose an issue I guess.
One is just under 2 and the other is 1 (we are two families flying together) So we got 2 seats with the extra leg room (to be able to place a bassinet..) then we purchased seats near them for the rest of us.

I booked 6 tickets-2 adults and 4 kids through Chase. (last week). Emailed Air Serbia and they were happy to add kosher food request. As mentioned above, they charge for all seat requests. Any feedback whether I should pay? I am most worried about my 3 year old but I assume that either FA or other passengers will make sure she does not end up alone. As far as my other kids, they would ideally love to sit with me but I’m very happy for a break from them!
I have have a 9,4, and 3 yr old all booked on seperate reservations. I’m pretty sure by law the children will not be allowed to sit alone so hopefully their system will automatically sit the children together without having to choose seats in advance.

For those asking about infant tickets, for us it priced out at $77 for In-Lap and $242 for In-Seat. Both cheaper than the $284 for an Adult ticket, so no reason to add 100 years to the DOB.

Since someone said that they are from Ethiad, I decided to go to the top right corner of skyscanners page where it says English, changed the country to some arab country, (keeping language and currency the same). Results were cheaper fights! So far the cheapest i got was 30 dollars cheaper when choosing Egypt. Any thoughts Dan?

I am having some trouble. I was trying to book my family, however we have 11 passengers in total so I had to do it in two separate bookings. 6 tickets went through and now there is no tickets available any more for the rest of the family. Do you have any advice for me? I tried to call Chase, Etihad and Air Serbia, nothing doing. Please help! My children are so disappointed. Do you think there may be any changes tomorrow? Or should we cancel the tickets booked?

Dan; think it’s worthwhile to split and use cash and points? I have plenty points but am thinking I can do better than 1.25 (CSP) PP so maybe save some points?? Do 2/3 points, rest cash…. Although quite frankly; I haven’t done better on airlines yet, I used to get above 2 cents PP booking hotels with SPG. Thanks!
Upgrade or apply for CSR first?
Thanks! Never felt the $450 AF made sense since I don’t travel enough. But maybe here it does. Upgrade right now, use cash/points (on CSR) and get the $300 travel credit (and then maybe downgrade next year)?? I actually booked already using my INK points (1 PP!). So I need to call up and change that so maybe I should upgrade to CSR first?
The INK points booking was in error, in haste to book forgot to transfer to CSP :-)….
If I called to upgrade to CSR, would the new card show in my account immediately? Because I probably need to make the change to the payment within 24 hours of my booking on Chase Travel? Thanks!
Called Chase Travel. They cannot modify the payment method, only cancel the reservation and use a new payment method for a NEW reservation. So I can go ahead and cancel and then immediately make a new reservation. Just worried what’s if the dates are then lost!

I was scanning thru the comments. Can’t believe some peoples absolute nerve! Some are “convinced” Dan is posting “bogus” deals! Why?! Because you did not snag it? So it’s bogus?? I just booked 3 tickets in the SUMMER at $423.93 apiece. Only thing I’m eating MYSELF up over is that in my haste to book; I used 85k INK points, which only give me a value of 1 cent PP, instead of 1.25 PP if I had simply transferred them to my other account (would’ve been 68k). But I still have the tickets booked. Why would Dan post “bogus deals”?? Gotta grow up people, Dan’s around awhile, he’s not here to waste time.

Minyanim
Usually there is no Minyan in mid-week, but sometimes when there is a group of guests we make a minyan at the Chabad House for Mincha and Arvit.
We recommend that you send us a message two days in advance to see if there is a chance for a Minyan. Also, if you see a lot of Jews on the flight, you can arrange with them and schedule a prayer time at the Chabad House.

I called to order Kosher meals and I’ve been told that as of now NO kosher meals is available on flight JFK/BEG BEG/JFK.
(“new order from 2 days ago” as per Air Serbia representative name Tamara)

IT was a glitch (YQ was being droped when issuing on EY stock) it tokk EY a long time to get on top of this…
This when on for a really long time! I booked at beginning of January when it all started and I always kept on checking and there was always some dates available! It does not seem like a glitch. How do you know that it was a glitch?

I don’t know if it was a glitch, but it was not the first time. They had similar deals a while ago through Momondo. They now had through Skyscanner and Trip.com, and then all those dates with Chase. However, if not a glitch, what makes them offer such prices?
If they were aware of it and told people they’re not offering the free hotel for these cheap tickets, then could it still be a glitch?
