Delta is currently releasing a decent amount of award space to their partner airlines on their JFK-Tel Aviv route.

The value of using miles is especially good when you just want to book a one-way ticket. Those come in handy if you can find award space or only have enough miles on another airline for a one-way ticket, or if you just need a one-way ticket for any other reason.

You won’t want to use Delta miles for a one-way JFK-Tel Aviv ticket, there are much better uses for Delta miles…

But you can use use 29K Air France/KLM Flying Blue miles for a one-way ticket between NYC and Tel Aviv.

And you can currently get a 25% bonus when you transfer AMEX points to Flying Blue or a 20% bonus when you transfer Capital One points to Flying Blue.

You can also transfer Chase or Citi points at a 1:1 ratio.

Points from all 4 banks transfer instantly into Flying Blue.

That means you can transfer 23,200 AMEX points into 29K Flying Blue miles for a one-way ticket:

The same rate applies to flights from other US airports, based on award availability:

58K miles+$53 in taxes for a round-trip from JFK-TLV:

You have to login to an Air France account to search for award space. On this page you can search for awards and click on “You are looking for a flight around these dates” to access the flexible award calendar. However the calendar is pretty buggy, so I’ve done the work for you.

You can use Chase Sapphire points?

  2. Jeff

Still dealing with an audit from over a month ago from when I did this with AF. They refuse to go through the process and reopen my account.
My name Amex to my AF account for me and my kids.
    Beware.

      • Ted

I don’t see it in the post. Read it twice. Thanks Dan.

        • Dan

“Currently you can find Delta award seats available via partner airlines from Tel Aviv to JFK on…”

  3. chaz

the word roundup seems like round trip. you might want to consider using different language

    • English

Assuming the average reader is literate, I think most people understand that “roundup” just means “summary” and has nothing to do with a round trip flight.

NEWB here!! I’m really new to the points game and want to make sure I’m getting the best deal. ELAL feb 5-12 from Newark is gonna cost me 78k points rountrip. I live right near Newark airport, is it more worth it for me to do this or go with delta from JFK?

  5. AAA

    Any Business Class Availability?

    • AAA

      Seems like there’s only 1/2 dates available…

  6. Agoldsc1

A bunch of these dates are on Shabbos 🙁

  7. united

Wow. Amazing how you have every available flight. Wish you would offer a service (willing to pay) which updates every couple days all the available flights from NYC to TLV on all the airlines. Don’t know how you get all this info. Takes me days…

  8. Agoldsc1

Is there any form of travel insurance that covers award bookings?

    • Gail

you dont need travel insurance for the flight because worst case, it’s $56 penalty and they put the miles back into the account

      • Agoldsc1

        Thanks!! I didn’t know that.

      • Agoldsc1

Is it $56 per segment, or round-trip? and is that the fee per passenger, or for the entire itinerary (regardless of the number of passengers)? Sorry, I tried finding this information online, but it’s not clear. Thanks!

  9. Mushky

Is this something I could use my Delta Amex miles for?

  10. Gail

Although this time around most of the Jan dates arrive on Shabbos, the last time you posted this, I booked for Thanksgiving eve Wed night with a return the following week for 58K points both ways nonstop on Delta. Same flight on Delta’s site was 85K so thank you

  11. Dave

Does it specific need to be searched on Air France? Flying Blue account also good?

  12. Ink

    Chase points full price
    58,000 points plus $58

  13. Menachem

and how much is it in business?

  14. pa

are delta skymiles one ways at half price non existent?

  15. Mrs H Zukerman

We already have booked 2 mileage award tickets with Delta RT (departing ORF on Jan 15, 2020 with connection in JFK and returning February 5 same route) can we make an exchange for this “deal” for the lesser miles and get our miles redeemed?

  16. Yub

@Dan, can you elaborate on, “there are much better uses for Delta miles…”? Thanks

  17. 1991

Can I use flying blue to fly between North and south america?
    (It said no flights available..)

  18. dov

Booked a round trip for 2 less than 100k amex points.
    TY DAN

  19. bingit

I don’t see an option to book direct jfk-tlv on af site? only showing me with connections…

    • Hersch

I’m also looking anyone could help finding a direct flight on website

  20. Talia

Getting an error message: “A technical error occurred and your request could not be completed. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please try again later.”
Should I just wait it out? Or is there another way to book these flights?
Also, is it smarter to transfer Bonvoy points to AirFrance or Chase points? I have both. Thanks!!
