To see if you have this offer just login to your AMEX account, click on any of your cards to go the activity page, click on “AMEX Offers For You,” and save the offer to your account as shown below:

If you also have multiple cards with the offer don’t rush to save the offer to your account!  Open up the Offers page for each card in a separate tab in the same browser.  Then go between the tabs to save the offer to each of your targeted cards.  Otherwise once you save the offer to one card it disappears from your other cards.

You can also register your secondary cards for their own AMEX login and register each of those cards as well.

You can get $15 back for spending $100 on Staples.com, including the purchase of a $100 or $200 Visa gift card online.

Of course you have to weigh the benefit versus using a Chase Ink Plus, Chase Ink Bold, or Chase Ink Cash card where you would earn 1% cash back plus 5 points per dollar spent.

Visa gift cards from office supply stores are issued by MetaBank which still work at WalMart (Vanilla gift cards no longer work well at WalMart).

The pin on the Visa gift card is the last 4 digits of the card number, no need to set anything.
-You can cash out the Visa cards using EvolveMoney to pay bills like your mortgage, property tax, auto loan, health insurance, store charge card (Gap, Macy’s, Target, etc).  There is no fee for this. There is a limit of 4 payments per bill per month.
-You can load Visa cards to your Bluebird card at a WalMart ATM machine.
-You can load Visa cards to your Bluebird card with a WalMart cashier or customer service.  Just say you want to use your debit card, no need to mention that it’s a gift card.
-You can buy a money order with the Visa card at any store that accepts debit cards as payment (except the post office).  Such stores exist even in manufactured spend deserts like NYC.
-You can pay your credit card bill at WalMart with BillPay at Customer Service.
-You can send the funds from the Visa card to a friend via Amazon Payments.
-You can gift a Visa gift card as a wedding gift instead of giving a check.
-You can just use the cards for your everyday spending to earn 5 points per dollar everywhere!

  1. Secondary cards

    Hey Dan I have a question. Every time you post about Amex offers I always try to figure out how to get an offer on to an authorized user card. I have an account set up separately for the authorized user card but I can never find the My offers for it. Do you have a more detailed description on how to locate that for authorized users?
    Or when you say separate cards are you not talking about authorize users to begin with?
    Thanks

  2. Dan

    @Secondary cards:
    It’s in the same place as it is on primary cards.

    @pointie:
    Lol.
    That’s funny because I just used a credit card for Evolve about 30 seconds ago.
    Many no longer work but plenty still do.

  3. Eh

    Dan – you have to pay $6.95 fee on these gift cards. Taking into account the difference in points between Amex and Chase Ink and the end of the day savings is minimal.

  4. secondary cards

    frustrating i cant find it. you have time for a screen shot?

  5. yair

    i’m 0 for 3. In fact, I have not seen any of the offers Dan has posted in the last few days. Anyone have any wisdom on who gets these things?

  6. Yehuda

    @Dan: care to break it down Dan style? 🙂

    @Dan

    I am an AU on my brother’s account, and I have the Costco offer. I want to check im he (promary) also has it so I don’t lose it for him. I have his amex login info and a seperate login for my AU.

    You say to open another tab in same browser for each account, but when I open another tab in Chrome and go to americanexpress.com, I am logged into the AU account. How do I get logged into the promary account witout logging out the first tab?

  8. reuvenhunt

    Is there any way to divide the cost of a $200 visa gift card between two of my AMEX credit cards?

  9. Anonymous

    Is this a Targated offer?

  10. anon

    I had the Amazon one, but not this one.

  11. Secondary cards

    Got it!
    I was logging in as a manager. I needed to create an entirely separate account for myself not as a manager on the primary account. VERY confusing! Surprised many other people dont have same issue.
    Now i have 2 accounts for the same AU card, one as a manger and one just as amex cardholder!
    Thanks

  12. Mike B

    @Anonymous

    I appreciate the answer, but Dan specifically said (in yesterday’s AMEX posts) NOT to use a second browser, but to use a second tab. I would like clarification from Dan if possible.

  13. Jason

    Awesome – got it on 3/5 AMEX’s with the multiple browser trick – Thanks, Dan!

    Limit 1 statement credit per American Express online account, does this mean if my wife is secondary account holder (additional card) that she will not get it?

  15. Dan

    @Mike B:
    Only need for multiple tabs/browsers is for primary cards in the same account.
    A secondary account with its own login wont effect anything else.

    @amexoffers:
    Every card that you save the offer to will work.

  16. Mike B

    @Dan

    So you are saying that if each primary and AU has it’s own signin, there is no need to do the offers at the same time? Accepting an offer under one login has no effect on other logins?

  17. Anonymous

    @Dan:

    You mean gift cards right? Actual ccs dont work according to the wiki on the evolve thread.

  18. Mitch Cumstein

    I registered 2 cards in my online account that had the offer using multiple tabs in my browser. However the T&C clearly state: “Limit 1 statement credit per American Express online account.” Has anyone received more than one credit when saving the offer to multiple cards in the same account??

  19. Esti

    1. Can a 200 purchase be split into 2 cc?
    2. can a cash card costco holder (NON MEMBER) make a purchase and pay on amex and not the cash card?

  20. sb

    why are all these awesome offers only going to the secondary user on my account?

  21. jessica

    Can you buys visa gift cards in store or is it online only?

  22. aaron

    YES. I have one online account for my starwood card and blue cash card…saved the offer on both using multiple tabs. Swiped both last week.and ive already received both $25 credits back.

  23. android

    Is there any way to sign up from an Android phone. Sberbank when I request desktop site I get the mobile site without an option for my offers.

  24. chana k

    @Esti: 1) Staples doesn’t seem to be able to have 2 different cc’s paying.
    But I have ‘staples gift cards’ I purchased elsewhere that I used to pay $100, and the rest I paid with my targeted Amex.
    2) Costco allows holders of their Cash Cards to shop in their stores, but they must use the cash card or actual cash to pay. They won’t allow you to use your Amex.

  25. Mitch Cumstein

    Thanks aaron. I am going to try buying a gift card on each of my Amex cards for $15 + $15 in credits.

  26. zow

    Dan,
    On DDF, I think in the AMEX FR wiki, there is mention that too many visits to your AMEX online account *might* trigger a financial review. How many (or how often) is too many? With your sending us near-daily new reasons to check our account, are we getting set up for FR? Thanks.

  27. Dan

    @Mike B:
    Correct.

    @Anonymous:
    I meant what I wrote.
    And I don’t write the Wikis, they’re only as good as whoever edits it.

    @Mitch Cumstein:
    Yes.

    @sb:
    Who cares as long as they’re coming!

    @jessica:
    Both but this deal is online only.

    @zow:
    Lol, that’s BS.
    Feel free to delete it from the Wiki.

  28. Esti

    anyone non member at costco was able to charge amex for a regular purchase?

    staples shut down my friend for buying a GC using staples GC. Not worth it!

    ChanaK, Thanks

    Dan? Costco q?

  29. Jason

    I think I’ve had this Staples offer in the past. Today the one that showed up for me says, “Offer valid online only at staples.com. E-Gift Card purchases sent directly to recipient’s email address are excluded.”

  30. Got it right

    I clicked too quickly for the CostCo deal. This time got it for 6 or 7 cards. Now weighing whether to use it or just to stick with Chase 5x. Hmmm… Buying $100 for $90, right?

  31. Got it right

    Correction: Buying $100 for $85

  32. mh

    blew it! I bought 4 in store – I read it to fast & did not see that it was Staples.com 🙁

  33. iahphx

    @Got it right:

    Actually, you’re buying $100 for $92 — making an $8 profit plus whatever bonus you get from AMEX (usually worth a buck or two). Pretty modest benefit, but also a pretty easy deal.

  34. gast

    does anyone know if it needs to be purchased in one purchase of $100 or is it good even 2 times $50?

  35. gast

    @Got it right: as I wrote in the cosco thred you can still fix it by sepaating the logins

  36. gast

    please help ! does anyone know if it needs to be purchased in one purchase of $100 or is it good even 2 times $50?

  37. a gast

    @gast: i chated 2 times with amex & they told me it will not be eligible , so i tried it by myself & it worked
