Update: The new rules have been officially announced and will go into effect on August 2nd, they include England, Scotland, and Wales! Travelers will still take a pre-departure test, and a PCR test on or before day two after arrival. Children under 18 years old do not need the vaccine and do not require quarantine.

According to the BBC later today England will be announcing details on fully vaccinated travelers from the US or EU no longer needing to quarantine when coming into the country.

Until now travelers that were fully vaccinated inside the UK did not need to quarantine but that exception will now apply to US and EU vaccinated travelers as well.

Will you be adding England to your travel plans?

Also visitors from Israel don’t need to quarantine, but starting Aug. 1st, Israel is protecting us and won’t let us fly there

  2. OMG!

They were lucky. My parents neighbours flew into the UK and had the police knock on their door twice to check they were quarantining.

This rule was actually in effect on July 19th. I just returned from Manchester. I needed to take a PCR test in USA before flying and also order a Day 2 test to arrive in UK. I then had to submit all my info on a Passenger locator form which I also printed out. Before returning to USA I only needed to take an antigen test not a PCR. It’s important to check exactly what you need before you fly especially if you have a stopover flight. Hatzlocho!

So can someone post link about this?

This will increase “friends and family” travel a bit, but it won’t do much for general leisure travel. Still way too much hassle.
