      All the more reason for the elderly and immunocompromised to have a mask that actually provides protection.

      Just because a mask mandate is ending does not translate into covid disappearing, nor does it mean that some people should be in certain places (indoors, shuls, etc.) unmasked due to health reasons.

        Exactly this. For those of us concerned about the potential long-term impacts of COVID – the ones we know about 2 years in, and the longer term ones that we don’t know about yet – N95 masks are that much more crucial now that fewer people around us are masked.
