I was wondering the same thing whether or not this would fit my Dell as well. Presumably it would be close if you pick a similar screen size but most likely they will either have an HP logo or cutout on the skin.
As far as trying to order it for another laptop it appears that you must enter a valid HP Laptop serial number, so unless you have one it won’t work.
