On Tuesday I noted that American extended systemwide upgrades that were set to expire on 6/30/21 to 7/31/22.
They are also extending the pause on mileage expiration to 1/1/22 or to 4/1/22 if you played their 40th anniversary spin to win game. Of course if you earned miles in that game they should post in June or July and they will extend your mileage expiration date by 18 months.
Credit card companion certificates with an original expiration date between 12/31/20-5/31/22 will now expire on 6/30/22.
Credit card flight discount certificates that expire between 6/30/21 and 7/31/22 will receive a 6 month extension of their expiration date.
Elite members can also click on Promotions to enroll in several offers:
Executive Platinums can claim 3,000 EQDs, Platinum Pros can claim 1,500 EQDs, Platinums can claim 1,000 EQDs, and Golds can claim 500 EQDs for free through 8/31.
Executive Platinums can earn 1,000 bonus EQMs per flight segment, Platinum Pros can earn 750 bonus EQMs per flight segment, Platinums can earn 500 bonus EQMs per flight segment, and Golds earn 250 bonus EQMs per flight segment through 8/31.
This promotion caps out at 10 flight segments. Registration closes 8/17 and only flights flown after registration will count, though flights booked before registration will count. Basic economy and award flights are not eligible for this promotion. Bonus EQMs don’t count towards challenges or million miler status. Partner flights are eligible for this promotion.
Pay $495 by 8/31 and you’ll earn 495 EQDs plus Executive Platinums will get 10,000 EQMs, Platinum Pros will get 7,500 EQMs, Platinums will get 5,000 EQMs, and Golds will get 2,500 EQMs.
As previously announced, elite status thresholds were lowered for 2021.

And as previously announced, American is waiving the EQD spending requirement for Gold, Platinum, and Platinum Pro status for customers who spend $30,000 on American credit cards in 2021. All miles that post to your account between 1/1/21-12/31/21 will count for that requirement.

Anyone else getting error messages on AA site when trying to register for these? I’m getting “Our system is having trouble. Please try again or come back later.”
AND, BE AWARE: When trying to register for the $495 promotion, even though the system gives an error message, the charge is going through. I tried a few times within about half hour, kept getting the error messages, but then noticed afterwards that multiple charges went through on the debit card I was using.
Worked for me.
