Anyway to talk to united to cancel an award flight to israel without waiting for 2 hours on the phone?

    • Dan

Try sending a direct message on Twitter?

whats united policy for new award bookings same free change as paid ticket ?

        • Daniel

My experience is that when I canceled online they charged me the $75 points “restocking” fee. When I called to complain they gave me an electronic voucher but stated that the waiver only applies to change fees and not to award point restocking fees.

They are still selling tickets for IAD-TLV for April

      • Yochai

Thanks. Does that mean if I book any of these flights now, I’ll be able to cancel for free?

If my daughter is booked on a flight home ( on the 26th) if it gets cancelled, do they automatically Rebook her, or can i get a refund?

    • Dan

If you mean March, they have clarified that flights aren’t being cancelled this month.

      • Davethemave

If they’re going from every day to three times a week, how are they not canceling flights?

Regarding the IAD (Washington, DC) flights, United said they’re flying through the 17th, and canceling for all of April.
But what is the status of the flights from the 18th through the 31st?
They haven’t confirmed anything about them, either that they’re flying them or that they’re canceling them.
Rosh Chodesh Nissan, when all the boys start their Pesach breaks, is on March 26.
What are the chances United will cancel their flights at the last minute?
Should we reschedule them now, or wait? It’s nerve-wracking!

    • Dan

Flights are currently scheduled to operate as normal until 3/31. That can change of course, so if you want to ensure a flight, rebook it for sooner.

If my child flies home from Israel and of March and has his return ticket to TLV and the end of April which looks as if they are cancelling, will he be placed on an Ewr flight or just refunded
Thank you for all the updates. Your really amazing.

    • Dan

You will be rebooked on another flight.

BA just canceled trip from Israel to Toronto this Sunday

  12. Moshe

Hi I just booked a return ticket for April 19th from Washington to tel aviv. Why are they still booking them if they are going to cancel them?

  13. Bachur

    Valuable information. Thank you!!!

  14. Yochai

TLV-IAD no longer showing up for April

  15. PS

My trip to Israel originates from IAD on 3/25/20 with a return on 4/5/20. So my questions are: first of all I will not be able to board the flight because I will be in Israel less than 14 days and my return flight is going to be cancelled so will United refund the fare without a hassle and what is the best way to approach this with the airline? Also, is the airline obligated to notify of the new restrictions?

  16. Jo

I am on flight UA91 on Mar 25, which I see in the post will still be going, however I want to push up the flight. Does it make sense that United is telling me I have to pay for the difference in fare?

  17. ua iad

Booked an award ticket one way in economy EWR-IAD-TLV for APR 19, I called to add lap infant child and they are charging me $395. They claim that it’s 10% last ticket sold for $3,300 at Y fare. Any info how to deal with this?

I have a reservation through miles on Monday march 23 from TLV -EWR there is a travel waiver on this flight . Is there a deadline to cancel the flight without penalty?
I might take an earlier flight .
