Chase has added the ability to transfer points to JetBlue.
Best of all, you can transfer at a 1K:1K ratio and there is no transfer fee.
This comes on the heels of losing Korean Air as a transfer partner. It doesn’t make up for that loss, but it’s a nice option to have.
Chase transfer partners now include:
- United (Star Alliance)
- Singapore (Star Alliance)
- Air France/KLM Flying Blue (Skyteam)
- British Airways (OneWorld)
- Aer Lingus (OneWorld)
- Iberia (OneWorld)
- JetBlue
- Southwest
- Virgin Atlantic
- Hyatt
- IHG
- Marriott
With the Chase Quadfecta you can earn 1.5 to 5 points per dollar spent everywhere! That means if you have a Chase card like Freedom Unlimited or Business Unlimited, you will be much better off using those cards for everyday spending instead of using your JetBlue card as they earn 1.5 points per dollar everywhere. Click Here to get more details on this card and compare to other business travel cards!
A notable exception to that is if you spend $50K annually on JetBlue cards you can earn Mosaic status, which would not be earned with point transfers from Chase.
Other programs also offer transfers to JetBlue, but they are not as generous.
- AMEX points normally transfer to JetBlue at a weak 1K:800 ratio, though until 10/1 there is a 25% bonus which makes it a 1K:1K ratio. Unfortunately AMEX charges a fee to transfer points to US airlines which adds 60 cents for every 1,000 points transferred with a maximum fee of $99 per transaction.
- Citi points transfer to JetBlue at a weak 1K:800 ratio.
- Marriott points transfer to JetBlue at a paltry 60K:12.5K ratio.
If you have a JetBlue Plus consumer or business card you’ll get a 10% rebate when redeeming JetBlue points. If you have both you’ll get a 20% rebate. That can add a lot of value to your JetBlue points.
Let’s take a look at the value of JetBlue points on several routes.
- A flight from JFK to Washington DC on 11/4 is $58.23 or 3,300 points+$5.60, a value of 1.59 cents per point. JetBlue Plus Cardholders will effectively pay 2,970 points, a value of 1.78 cents per point. JetBlue Plus Consumer+Business Cardholders will effectively pay 2,640 points, a value of 1.99 cents per point.
- A flight from Chicago to JFK on 10/16 is $71.02 or 4,300 points+$5.60, a value of 1.52 cents per point. JetBlue Plus Cardholders will effectively pay 3,870 points, a value of 1.69 cents per point. JetBlue Plus Consumer+Business Cardholders will effectively pay 3,440 points, a value of 1.9 cents per point.
- A flight from Newark to Fort Lauderdale on 9/17 is $78.23 or 4,800 points+$5.60, a value of 1.51 cents per point. JetBlue Plus Cardholders will effectively pay 4,320 points, a value of 1.68 cents per point. JetBlue Plus Consumer+Business Cardholders will effectively pay 3,840 points, a value of 1.89 cents per point.

- A flight from Los Angeles to Orlando on 1/27 is $93.19 or 5,900 points+$5.60, a value of 1.48 cents per point. JetBlue Plus Cardholders will effectively pay 5,310 points, a value of 1.65 cents per point. JetBlue Plus Consumer+Business Cardholders will effectively pay 4,720 points, a value of 1.86 cents per point.
- A flight from JFK to Bermuda on 10/14 is $101.40 or 5,500 points+$5.60, a value of 1.74 cents per point. JetBlue Plus Cardholders will effectively pay 4,950 points, a value of 1.94 cents per point. JetBlue Plus Consumer+Business Cardholders will effectively pay 4,400 points, a value of 2.18 cents per point.
- A flight from Los Angeles to JFK on 12/5 is $118.24 or 7,800 points+$5.60, a value of 1.44 cents per point. JetBlue Plus Cardholders will effectively pay 7,020 points, a value of 1.6 cents per point. JetBlue Plus Consumer+Business Cardholders will effectively pay 6,240 points, a value of 1.81 cents per point.
Values are a bit lower for Mint business class:
- A flight from Los Angeles to JFK on 1/19 is $558.25 or 42,200 points+$5.60, a value of 1.3 cents per point. JetBlue Plus Cardholders will effectively pay 37,980 points, a value of 1.46 cents per point. JetBlue Plus Consumer+Business Cardholders will effectively pay 33,760 points, a value of 1.64 cents per point.
On average, you should be able to get a value of at least 1.5 cents per JetBlue point, 1.7 cents per JetBlue point if you have a JetBlue Plus card, or 1.9 per JetBlue point if you have a JetBlue Plus Consumer+Business Card.
It’s important to note that if you don’t have a JetBlue card but you do have a Sapphire Reserve card, it will be better to buy ticket using your Sapphire Reserve points for a paid flight. That’s because the card gives you a value of 1.5 cents each towards paid flight and you’ll earn 3 JetBlue points per dollar spent on the paid flight. Be sure to run the numbers to see if you should book a paid flight or transfer points.
Transferring Chase points to JetBlue is not a mind-blowing redemption like you can get with a international premium cabin ticket on an airline like ANA or even when booking a last-minute Cleveland-NYC flight for 7.5K points instead of paying $500, but it’s a decent value for your Chase points.
Will you transfer Chase points to JetBlue?
Options are always good to hedge against other devals, like if chase reduced the value of redemption back to 1.25c.
Bye bye JetBlue spend. JetBlue loyalty program is rated #1, mostly because it’s simple and easy to redeem points. The trade off is you don’t get steels, but this adds real value for me on chase. Which is my new home for charging.
Correct, the points earned are a lot more flexible with Chase.
I know many of your reader have advanced degrees in points redemption but for the simple elementary grade people, this is great! Thanks for the update!
I didn’t know you could earn 20% back with both cards – where can I find info on this?
You just found the info, what else are you looking for?
Better kept on the down low, though I’m sure some other blogger will rip this off and make a headline about it to ensure it gets killed quickly as has happened so many times in the past.
not sure this is correct. i have had both the plus and business cards and not sure i got 20% back
Works for me and others on DDF.
What does not sure mean?
means i’m gonna check that i actually had both cards open when the 10% was credited.
Thanks, how do I know during booking if I am getting the 10% or 20% off bonus? I have a Jetblue business card.
If you have one card you’ll get a 10% rebate after the flight.
Dan how much would you value jet blue mosaic status. Based on these calculations it would cost you the value of at least 25,000 points values at $375.00
The cost is actually more than that because as Chase points they are more flexible and therefore more valuable.
As JetBlue points they are locked in and subject to devaluation.
The value is really subjective. It depends on how often you travel, how many bags you travel with, how often you change your travel plans, etc. There is no one size fits all number.
Can you use JetBlue points to book awards on any other airline?
Jetblue consumer card would still beat quadfecta at grocery stores for spend
can you credit paid jetblue flights to singapore? and get 100% of the flown miles
can you statues match mosaic airlines to other ff programs?
Yes. Google statusmatcher
Are points transferred from Chase to JetBlue available immediately or does it take a few days?
my favorite airline for the LA to NYC route, so this makes me happy
10% Rebate question from JetBlue credit card. Does it matter if husband and I are pooling points? How is the best way to book point flights to get 10% rebate.
Thanks, Beechy
Explanation from Barclay’s website below:
How do I qualify to receive 10% of my redeemed TrueBlue® points back?
This benefit only applies to TrueBlue points redeemed from the primary cardmember’s TrueBlue membership account after the award flight. For the benefit to apply, your Account must be open at the time of redemption. TrueBlue redemption bonus points typically post 4-6 weeks after you take your JetBlue-operated Award Flight.
