Personally I’m not targeted for this promotion, but several DDF members were targeted. Their offers have varied, but a few reported offers on DDF have been:

To get those bonus miles you need to register for the offer and buy tickets for United flights that are completed by 11/30. Tickets purchased before registering don’t count towards the total. Only the base fare+fuel surcharges count towards the spend threshold, taxes and government mandated fees don’t count.
The bonus miles will post in January 2017.

From reviewing my family accounts, it seems as all accounts that have no united revenue tickets credited have the basic 30k offer. The ones that have united revenue tickets credited, have other offers.

total of $11,000 for 53k bonus miles (sounds worst comparing to others)

I looked at previously booked reservations and I now see that when I upgrade to premium economy, it doesn’t charge me. Unfortunately, this only seems to work for me, not my wife who usually flies for me (it wanted to charge me to move her up as well), so I don’t think I’ll be using this benefit much.
