You can get $10 off $100 of Visa gift cards from Office Max or Office Depot stores through 8/29.

Use your Chase Ink Cash Card or Ink Plus card and get 5 points per dollar spent. You can also check for AMEX Offers and Chase Offers for additional targeted savings.

$100 gift cards have a $5.95 fee and $200 gift cards have a $6.95 fee.

Some stores may limit you to 1 transaction, but some stores won’t have any limits at all, which would allow you to scale the savings quite nicely.

You can use the gift cards to buy money orders at Walmart or at various grocery stores and gas stations. Just use the last 4 digits of the card as the PIN number to cash them out.

Or you can donate the gift card to charity and get a receipt for the full face value.

Or you can give away a gift card as a wedding or Bar Mitzvah gift.

Or you can always use it for everyday spending while earning 5% or 5 points per dollar everywhere.

Or you can buy them with Amex, and use them at Costco.

I have had problems with Visa gift cards purchased at Office Depot and Staples over the past few months. Even though I register them and reset the PIN the same day I buy them, the cards are drained by unauthorized charges if I don’t use them immediately. Has anyone else had this problem? I have filed a dispute and received a new card with the funds restored, but it has been a huge hassle. I live in the greater Los Angeles area.

Any point in buying them if you don’t have chase ink? I have freedom unlimited

You’ll gain about $3.99 on each $100 transaction. Question is how many transactions the store will let you make.

So just to clarify, you can buy a $200 gift card and get this savings – you’re not limited to $100 cards?
