Get A 25% Bonus When You Transfer AMEX Membership Rewards Points Into JetBlue Points

Login to your account via the link above and the transfer ratio should say 250:250 through 12/21.

Typically, it’s not worth transferring AMEX Membership Rewards points to JetBlue points as 250 AMEX points normally convert into just 200 JetBlue points.

Unfortunately AMEX charges a fee to transfer points to US airlines. That adds 60 cents for every 1,000 points transferred with a maximum fee of $99 per transaction.

If you have a JetBlue Plus consumer or business card you’ll get a 10% rebate when redeeming JetBlue points.

As you can see from this miles expiration post, JetBlue points never expire.

Is it worth transferring points?

  • A flight from Newark to Boston on 1/12 is $48.30 or 2,600 JetBlue points+$5.60, a value of 1.64 cents per point.
  • A flight from JFK to Fort Lauderdale on 1/14 is $58.30 or 3,400 JetBlue points+$5.60, a value of 1.55 cents per point.
  • A flight from JFK to Las Vegas on 1/12 is $108.30 or 7,100 JetBlue points+$5.60, a value of 1.45 cents per point.

On average, you should be able to get a value of at least 1.5 cents per JetBlue point or 1.7 cents per JetBlue point if you have a JetBlue Plus card.

It’s not a mind-blowing redemption like you can get when redeeming for a premium class award or even a last-minute Cleveland-NYC flight for 6.5K points instead of paying $500, but it’s a decent value for your AMEX points that is somewhat dampened by the AMEX fee for transfers to US airlines.

Will you transfer AMEX points to JetBlue?
