Staples is offering $5 off $200 Visa gift cards through 8/22 in-store only.
That reduces the card purchsae fee from $6.95 to $1.95 per card.
Use your Chase Ink Cash Card or Ink Plus card and get 5 points per dollar spent. You can also check for AMEX Offers and Chase Offers for additional targeted savings.
The weekly ad states that there is a limit of 5 per customer per day, though the discount should apply on up to 9 cards per transaction if your store isn’t a stickler for limits.
You can use the gift cards to buy money orders at Walmart or at various grocery stores and gas stations. Just use the last 4 digits of the card as the PIN number to cash them out.
Or you can donate the gift card to charity and get a receipt for the full face value while earning 5 points per dollar.
Or you can give away a gift card as a wedding or Bar Mitzvah gift.
Or you can always use it for everyday spending while earning 5% or 5 Chase Ultimate Rewards points per dollar everywhere!
Are they playing games with us? Trying to see how much we will pay to get the $200? I’m waiting for the $6.95 off. (Staples liaison, are you reading this?)
The register1 will only allow 9 cards this time, not 10, since it maxes out at $2k total including fees- and this time the $1.95 fee means that 10 would be over that limit. Although of course many stores will stick to the stated limit of 5 anyways.
Good catch
Just came here to write this, though I am wondering if the $2k limit is on the purchase in total, or is it a limit on the value of the GCs sold.
How many points for a chase business ink preferred or a sapphire card? Thanks
what am i missing? why would anyone do this? you pay a $6.95 activation fee to get $5 back???????????
