Update: This promo ends today!

BA is offering a 30% bonus on hotel points transferred into Avios through 3/31/19.

Eligible hotels include:

  • Hilton
  • Hyatt
  • IHG
  • Marriott
  • Radisson
  • Shangri-La

The only hotel chain with a worthwhile transfer ratio is Marriott at 60K:25K. With this promo 60K Marriott would become 32,500 Avios.

Avios aren’t what they used to be when short-hauls in the US were just 4.5K miles and AA had amazing availability, so only transfer if you have a short-term need for them.

Bonus Avios can take 4-6 weeks to show on your account from the date of conversion.

Horrible, 10:1. Never worth transferring Hilton to miles.

Is it worth transferring UR to Hyatt then BA?

    • Ari

lol why would you do that. Chase UR goes directly to British 1:1

      • Coffee Guy

Because IF UR to Hyatt is 1:1 (I have no idea) he benefits from the 30% bonus.

did you ever redeem for a travel companion pass? and if you didnt would you pick economy over business? the taxes and surcharges are very hard to swallow even if your not leaving ot departing the Uk.

    • Dan

I’ve never flown BA. Don’t care to pay fuel surcharges.

not the best biz class seats – and not the best service

    • Dan

2.5:1. Not at all worthwhile as Hyatt points are quite valuable.

Hi Dan, Tnx a lot for everything.

hello Dan maybe i will get a response this time?

any other transfers that are worth doing from Marriott? or should i use all my points for his one?

    • tassojunior

Marriott points are almost always better to transfer to United. They have excellent bonuses from time-to-time and Marriott, I think, always gets a United bonus.

Will this promo work for transferring amex platinum points to ba?

    • Dan

I’d have said so if that was the case 😉

The 30% is added by BA 4-6 weeks after conversion.

      • ben

Oh, cool. And do I need to do 60k at a time or as long as it’s a multiple of 60 (eg 120k) I should get the 30% bonus?
