Signup For CLEAR (Free With AMEX Platinum) And Get A $75 Uber Voucher

After signing up online you can finish your registration in any airport with CLEAR. In the past, CLEAR has honored promotions after signing up online, without completing airport registration.

Terms:

  • Your Annual Unlimited CLEAR membership fee is refundable. Refunds will be pro-rated based on the time remaining on your membership.
  • $75 Uber Voucher to be provided upon completion of enrollment in and purchase of a one year CLEAR Plus membership.
  • Uber Voucher will be sent to the email address on file for CLEAR Plus Member within three business days of completion of CLEAR Plus membership enrollment.
  • Limit one code per customer. Must be applied at the time of sign up. Cannot be combined with any other offers. Available to new CLEAR Plus Members only. Must be redeemed on clearme.com.
  • Uber Vouchers are valid until 12/31/2022.
  • Limited time only. Refunds for accounts created under promotion and canceled within the first 12 months from enrollment will be subject to a $75 Uber Voucher fee and refunded on a pro-rata basis thereafter.
  • CLEAR Plus is currently available to US citizens, legal permanent residents, and citizens of US territories, 18 and older with valid photo ID.
  • Your CLEAR membership automatically renews each year for an additional 12 month period at the annual full member rate. We will notify you 30 days before your card is charged.

It’s worth noting that this isn’t the cheapest price for CLEAR. CLEAR normally costs $179/year, but United and Delta non-elite members can enroll in CLEAR for $119/year. United and Delta cardholders and mid-tier elite members can enroll in CLEAR for $109/year. Top tier elites get CLEAR for free. However, you can contact CLEAR after signing and request the Delta or United rate as well as a refund for the difference in price.

You can set your account not to auto-renew.

The full annual fee will be reimbursed once per calendar year if you use an AMEX Platinum Card or AMEX Business Platinum Card as those cards have a $179 annual credit for CLEAR.

The AMEX Green Consumer Card will cover $100 in CLEAR fees per calendar year.

A CLEAR member can add up to 3 adults for just $60 each, which will also be covered in full by the AMEX Platinum card or AMEX Offer. Kids under 18 can go with their parents for free without a membership or biometrics required. That means that with an AMEX Platinum card you can get CLEAR for free for a family with kids under 18 with the Delta/United rate for CLEAR.

CLEAR allows you to skip to the front of the line. If you have PreCheck you can skip to the front of the PreCheck line and if you don’t have PreCheck you can skip to the front of the regular line.

You don’t need to take out your ID either, your fingerprint or eye act as your ID.

The dependability that skipping the line gives you is simply amazing. It means I can leave my house 55 minutes before a flight and know that I won’t miss my flight out of CLE. When I’m with my family I’ll leave plenty of time and enjoy the airport lounge, but if I’m solo, the less wasted time in the airport is always a win.

Do you enjoy having CLEAR?

Not unless you opened a new account.

Thanks for the tip. If I am an Amex platinum additional cardholder does it also work for me? I know some benefits are for the primary cardholder only….

    • Dan

The CLEAR benefit can only be used for $179 back across all primary and AU cards. Unlike Global Entry/PreCheck, there’s no additional CLEAR AU credit.

  2. YM

How is the additional family member covered by the amex platinum of the total ends up being $179 + $60? Unless you mean after you get them to give you the Delta rate?
If that is the case, can you add any details how to get that rate – is it best through chat or calling, what to say, etc?

    • Dan

Correct. Call, chat, or email them and just ask for the Delta or United rate along with your mileage number.

      • YM

Can’t seem to find the chat option..

        • YM

Just called and the rep added my united info and adjusted it for me for $179 total for myself and my wife. Thank you!

          • Howard Garfinkel

Did you call before or after you registered with the Amex Platinum?

  3. Shloime Spinner

Such a good thing. Took me 15 seconds to pass thru security the last few times I flew!!

  4. E

Just signed up with my amex platinum, can I still get it?

  5. Yaakov

I never got the united credit from last deal

  6. Shloime

If I signed up for clear a week ago can I get the Uber credit?

      • Dan

You would have to signup for a new account/email I’d imagine.

  7. Avi2

Just got an e-mail from United that if I spend $100 during the back half of April on my United Quest card, I will get 1 year of Clear for free

  8. David

Hi. How do you know they will adjust to the $119 if I call after signing up at 179? Is that always the case or mileage may vary?

Also there is a united landing page offer at the $119 giving 15,000 united miles. See google. Which is do you think is a better deal here? Thanks.

    • Dan

      Always the case.
The 15K offer was for elites only and is now expired. We posted it when it was alive.

  9. David

I’m not seeing the $75 uber promo referenced on my landing page at all when I click your link above – am I doing something wrong? is there a code (a box shows for a code) thanks.

  10. Gabriel Marinho

Does this work for the student rate?

  11. Allen

I signed up Clear last year and it has not expired yet. Should I cancel it and sign up again? Did you mean cancelling will get the membership fee proratedly refunded? Will Amex claw back the reimbursement if I cancel?

  12. Ordfreqflyer

I already have Clear. If I have Amex Platinum, can I use it to sign up my adult daughter and charge it to my Amex getting the $179 rebates?

  13. PH

How will the $75 voucher work? Is it a promotion code / gift card that I add to my wallet and can then spend down by choosing that payment option for subsequent transactions? Or is there some very specific way of redeeming the voucher against existing transactions?

  14. Joe

If I have a canceled account and I reactivate it with this promotion will I get the voucher

  15. David

Just called Clear; tried to get UA pricing (and add a second member for the same net pricing). They saw I signed up through Uber promo and won’t give me the UA pricing, so looks like you can’t double dip.

  16. HelpMe

Terms for voucher says onetime use. Does that mean you need to use the $75 in one shot or lose the remaining balance?

    • HelpMe

You do not need to use the voucher all at once.
