Update, 9/15/21: I just chatted with Amazon and had no problem getting a sitewide credit in exchange for my expiring credits. DDF members have been having success as well. Some reps are offering to give a credit if you can’t use them by the expiration date and are asking customers to chat back after they expire to get the credit. This will most likely be issued in the form of a sitewide credit.
Many people report they have much better luck calling to get the credits converted, you can call Amazon at 888-280-4331.

The current round of Prime Now no-rush credits expire today.
Last year Amazon.com was allowing digital credits to be used for anything sold by Amazon, but that was a short lived glitch.
DDF member LNS pointed out last year that he was able to chat with Amazon to get them converted into credit that can be used on anything sold from Amazon.
I’ve been able to do that in the past as well.
Apparently it’s still working, as DDF member LoLo was able to get them converted into an Amazon gift card. Several other DDF members had success today getting the credit as a refund on a past order or added as an account credit.
You can click here to chat with Amazon and see what they can do with your expiring Prime Now no-rush credits. You’ll need to be using a desktop browser or you can request the desktop site from your mobile browser’s menu in order to chat. If you get the automated system you’ll have to click on the human to speak to a live agent.
You can also speak to an agent over the phone.

It’s not really that they convert them , they just issue a good will promo and they dont touch the digital credits.
In my case the supervisor Issued a $70 GC for my PRIME NOW $70 l credit in form of a so called refund on a $2 purchase order
They did one reduce my credit so I guess its different every time.
Don’t give up! I Chatted called and emailed and was first given only $25 converted to Amazon credit after which I was refused several times (they all told me that they don’t convert credits, can’t do more than $25 etc.) I decided to try one last time today and they gave me a $100 general credit without even reducing my no rush shipping credit (which are expiring today). I did point out that I had made many many orders but I don’t really know I f that was the deciding factor. Its all Siyata D’shmaya.
What Amazon email did you use? I thought they disabled all customer service email accounts?
In case it helps to know, TurboTax downloadable software can be covered by these credits.
Especially helpful now that IRS doesn’t partner with them for free file anymore.
This did NOT stack with the $10 Amazon gift card promo while it was running but if you aren’t in a rush, make sure to get it on sale ($54.99 for Premier, etc).
Another tip. If you get the option to get it in a form of a GC or promo credit, rather take the promo credit as when purchasing with promo credits you dont pay taxes of the promo amount.

You are correct. However, promo credits are not refundable. So if you need to return an item that was purchased with promo credits, you will not receive the credits back, whereas if you use a gc you will get them back. Just FYI.

No luck with my $25 Prime Now credit. Was told they don’t make exceptions to this. 🙁
I was also told that they don’t make exceptions and they could not transfer my $20 credits into a gift card or a promo credit.
After ending the chat, I started a new chat with a different rep and after saying he couldn’t transfer it he then told me as a one time courtesy he will give me a $20 promotional credit for anything shipped and sold by amazon.

I use it to buy Jewish Music mp3s and we are also able to listen on Amazon music app and amazon echo
no success getting a credit for them but they did extend the expiration date (the guy said he was just deleting and then re-adding them)
oops…. that was what the guy “said” he was going to do, he converted them to promotional credit, I don’t think he was clear on what they actually were.

As usual I found the Amazon customer service the best in the industry. They almost immediately converted to a credit to anything that Amazon sells and delivers. Just be nice when you speak to them.
Got a promo credit for expiring no rush credits. The rep told me digital items are excluded from the no rush shipping promo as are gift cards. Said they would automatically apply to products sold and shipped by Amazon. I put an Echo spot in my cart, went to checkout page and asked where the credit would display. Was told that I had to place the order first, so I did, and asked again. She checked and confirmed the credits could not be applied and offered a $5 courtesy credit. I asked for $13 since that amount expires tomorrow. She gave me $15. All in all more time and effort than it was worth just like most communications with Amazon customer service. But, at least I get something of value for those no rush shipments. Thanks Dan! There will likely be some time in the future when my expiring credits will be worth an hour long chat session (but I’m not so sure I will have the patience for HUCA). I will also be more likely to opt for the higher value Prime Pantry no rush offers in the future.

In response to that rating a page popped up offering to either call or chat about my rating. On that call the representative offered to convert it to a promo credit

Scratch that! I finally had success just now via chat. And they agreed to convert my $22 credits expiring in 3 days plus my $17 credits expiring in March 2020!
Is this still working as of November 2019? I chatted with 3 reps on 3 different days who all told me it’s not possible (I was successful in the past but not this month). Then I called and was told the same thing. All 4 told me to spend it ASAP in movies, software or what not.
I got it on my first chat today. Several DDFers have reported success as well.

I called about 10 times in the past few weeks but no success, FYI, I have $300 credit…

Yes. I really asked for the lead for a one time exception but I’m sorry but we don’t have an option to issue a credit for the no rush credit.
First chat rep was clueless about what no rush credits were. Kept telling me to find my emails as if that mattered. Was (supposedly) no supervisor available. Left chat and tried again later and was transferred to a supervisor named Ralph who was, to put it simply, a sack of turds about it. No “hello” for it taking half an hour to even understand my inquiry, no “sorry for the confusion” etc… Told me he “cannot issue a credit” and “to read the terms and conditions of the promotion”. I asked “so to clarify the system will not give give you any options here with my situation” and he replied “I’ve satisfied proper expectations here. Is there anything else I can help you with today?” To which I said “yes, answering my question would be great I just want to know if there’s anything you could do.” He then said he satisfied expectations and per their terms and conditions there’s nothing more to help me with and then signed off chat.
I called Amazon and was asked for a supervisor who was night and day more friendly about it. Didn’t even have to ask for a promotional credit he just applied it automatically. Knew exactly what I was referencing and all without these huge delays.
I highly recommend people call in and not waste your time with their online chat which I believe has been circling the drain faster and faster over the last few years (long time member). Going forward I’m only going to call in unless it’s cut and dry and something a monkey could perform.

Struck out on Chat. When IO received the email about rating the chat, I rated negative and opted for a call back. I had $48 in credits, some expiring today, some in two weeks, and some in June.

I explained that I lost quite a bit the last time they expired, which is 100% the truth. I also explained to him that I shop on Amazon just about daily and spent quite a bit of money there.
I was told, they are unable to do that, and he hoped I understood his limitations.
I responded and said no I don’t, because I know of someone who had theirs converted.
He wanted to know who it was so he could report the person that did it. Then he said “is that okay?” I said “no” LOL
So I’m guessing that “convert” is not the word I’m looking for.

Rep on the phone seems to have no idea what a digital credit is. Tried again and same thing. Am I telling then the wrong thing?
I had $70, half of which were due to expire tonight. I called and asked the rep to place them on a gift card. She said that she can’t do that but instead applied it to my account. So when I’ll make purchases from items sold by Amazon the amount will be deducted from my credit of $70. The only odd part is that she said there’s no way for me to see that credit or its balance anywhere!

They can’t “convert” the credit. They can give you courtesy credit. Especially if you just need $5 or less. My dig credit was for $4.50 and they give me a $5 amazon credit off next purchase

ok, so i have a measly $1 expiring in 2 days…i figured it was hardly worth the time to chat to convert that to a sitewide credit…but alas, the customer service rep was kind enough to give me $5 for the $1. So…moral of the story….do throw away you very low digital credit; it may still be worth your time to chat with Amazon.

I chatted with support and while he said he couldn’t extend the digital credit expiration, he converted them to a one-time promotional credit of equal value rounded up to the nearest whole with no expiration!
They’ve NEVER given me a credit, in fact ONE customer support person was pretty cold about the whole thing and was like “sorry”. I think he was my third pleading phone call, then I gave up.

Same and don’t have the patience nor time to mess with them so I usually buy some old Jewish music like from 20+ years ago.

What words do you use to get them to do the conversion? I have asked several times in the past and have always been shot down.
In case it helps to know this, TurboTax downloadable software can be covered by these credits.
Especially helpful now that IRS doesn’t partner with them for free file anymore.
This did NOT stack with the $10 Amazon gift card promo while it was running but if you aren’t in a rush, make sure to get it on sale ($54.99 for Premier etc).
I haven’t seen an offer of No Rush Credit in years. Are they still doing that?
