$5 off $50 is 10% off. Plus you can use a card like Blue for Business that earns 2 points per dollar.
That exceeds 5 Chase points per dollar earns.

That’s because you applied it to your account already. Checkout and look under the total to see if the promotion is applied.
its not supposed to show a difference on total, the $5 is a promo credit coming a few days later
