Update: If you are having problems applying the code on the final checkout page click on the “change form of payment” option and there should be a box to check to indicate that you wish to use promotional money (10% of the cost of the GPS) towards the purchase.
Both of these excellent GPS units have maps for all of North America, text-to-speech, multi-destination routing, and an FM transmitter.
The Nuvi 780 also has a built-in MSN receiver (with weather, traffic, gas prices, etc) and bluetooth.
The Nuvi 850 has voice recognition so you can speak commands instead of typing them in.
Use the following promo code (for 10% off anything on this page when using a chase card) at the final checkout page just before confirming your order: CHASETEN
FYI The 850 also has the new lane-assist feature which is pretty helpful if you travel through areas included in this feature.
@ Dan- Do you think I can get refunded $20 if I just bought the 780 for $200 even though I didn’t purchase it with a Chase card?
i “borrowed” the 265WT from costco for 238.00. is it better to return and go for the 780 or 850? also, does the 850 have the same features like the 750 such as traffic, weather gas etc?
I trust you on deciding for me on this one, between the 780 and 850 which one is a better buy?
I like this deal but i am not familiar with GPS devices can someone tell me which one of these 2 are better.
The usual price of the 850 is higher than that of the 780. That may have to do with the fact that the 850 is a newer model than the 780. That being said, I’ve read reports saying the 850 is rather sluggish compared to the 7 series. What I would say is it really depends on what features are most important to you- Bluetooth and MSN traffic(780) or lane-assist and voice command(850).
