This is the base model Nuvi at its lowest price to date!
It is a great GPS (Very fast satellite lock, ultra-slim and lightweight design, great touchscreen user interface and points of interest, excellent battery life) but it only has built-in maps of the US48, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico, and it lacks text-to-speech, so it will only say aloud “turn right in 500 feet” instead of “turn right onto Main Street in 500 feet”
If you want maps of Canada or Alaska and text-to-speech then spend the extra $80 and get the Nuvi 260 which is also at a bargain price today!
Would it be better to buy this at buy.com (around 219 minus 50 if you sign up for their credit card) or is there a reason to buy it at amazon. thank you
Are you serious???
You think it makes more sense to open a credit card and still pay more from a company with terrible customer service than just buying it in the first place for less money from amazon???
Dan, sorry I wasn’t clear before the nuvi 260 is 219 before the credit card compared to amazon’s 235. also in this case do I really care about customer service
Buy.com wants $279 for the nuvi 260, almost $50 more than Amazon.
The 219 price is from a 3rd party (Electronics Expo) and I don’t believe the credit card will take $50 off that.
The reason for customer service would be if you weren’t happy with your unit or the price went down, etc.
You’ve got a point. I should know by now not to dought you. Thanks.
