Nordstrom has announced that they will close all of their US and Canada Nordstrom And Nordstrom Rack stores from 3/17 through 3/31.
They say that they will pay employees their regular pay and benefits during the closure, which is great.
Nordstrom.com and NordstromRack.com will continue to be open.
Nordstrom appears to be the first retail chain to close all of their retail locations, but I’d assume more chains will follow. The only question is whether 2 weeks is hopelessly optimistic as we’ve seen the airlines continue to extend their own service suspensions.

Toys R Us also closed basically all of their stores a while ago in anticipation of this.
I heard their employees aren’t getting paid though

Patagonia was the first. Online also not available because they want their warehouse staff to also stay home. All being paid during closure. I also received store closure notices (online sites available) from Anthropologie, Nike, Urban Outfitters, Uniqlo, REI, Jcrew, LL Bean and Apple stores. I believe there are many more.
