In the inbox of your Starbucks app you should see this offer for a free $5 eGift card when you buy a $15+ gift card with a Mastercard:
- This offer is not targeted, so you can take advantage of this promotion even if it’s not in your offer inbox.
- You can send a $15 eGift card to yourself or someone else. Choose other amount in order to send exactly $15.
- You can’t use Paypal checkout or other 3rd party payments for this promotion.

You can view the Star-K’s Iced Beverages kosher recommendation list here.
Not in my app inbox. Maybe only targeted?
In general these are not targeted. Try it with a Mastercard and let us know 🙂
Yes, it worked! Thanks Dan
Awesome!
Not in mine either.
I have it in the app. just tried with 2 different Mastercard’s, and getting on both that transaction is denied. Weird
Just tried it with a Chase IHG MasterCard. Denied 3X. Called Chase. Rep and the a “supervisor” both claim Chase will not allow eGift Card purchases on Chase cards. When did his start?
My chase rep and supervisor claim it’s not them it’s Mastercard
Can’t be MC. I used a Citi MC and it worked fine. Clearly a Chase problem.
+1 for IHG denial; I think I remember this being the exact same issue the last time around.
Can I use paypal key?
Didn’t get the $5 egift card bonus when paying with a Mastercard via Apple Pay.
Needs to be direct.
did it online – not through app and it worked!
