Effective today Costco is starting to roll out a new return policy!
Costco of course is famous for allowing lifetime returns on nearly everything they sell.
The items subject to the new 90-day return policy are:
-TV’s
-Computers
-Cell Phones
-Cameras
-Camcorders
-Ipods/MP3 Players
Here is the nationwide rollout schedule:
Costco.com/California: Effective immediately.
Remaining West Coast: 3/12
Midwest/Texas: 3/19
Northeast: 3/26
Southeast/Puerto Rico: 4/2
Items bought before these dates will still have lifetime return privileges.
Items bought on or after these dates will be subject to a 90-day return policy.
In addition:
-Costco will extend the manufacturers warranty for computers and tv’s until 2 years from the purchase date.
-Costco will provide free technical support for these items(excluding cell phones) by calling: 866-861-0450
The jury is still out on whether Sam’s Club(which only recently matched costco’s lifetime policy) will match this new return policy, or keep their’s for a competitive advantage.

I called Costco concierge services at 866-861-0450. They told me that there is no nationwide rollout schedule for the new 90-day return policy, but that it is effective natiowide as of February 26th.

I bought a 42″ Pioneer Plasma back in February 2006 ($2200.00). It’s not working now (October 2015).
May I receive a full refund (the whole $2200.00) in cash or in credit to be use in the store or Costco will give the option to get an item similar to the original, that is to say a 42″ -43″ TV, which right now are in the $700 – $1100 averege price. Please Advice.
