Update: You can now get the New XPS 13 Core i7 Touch Laptop for $1,299.99. I got the New XPS 13 Touch Laptop with my AMEX Business Platinum credits earlier this year and it’s fantastic!

With the AMEX 10% discount it will be $1,169.99. With the Business Platinum $200 credit it will be $969.99 or less with multiple Business Platinum cards.

Dell will have several great flash deals, but you’ll typically have just seconds to claim them and checkout after they go live, so set an alarm and keep refreshing that page!

-Most AMEX business cards also have 10% off at Dell. Plus you can stack this with the AMEX Business Platinum $200 credit!

-The AMEX Platinum card has a targeted AMEX Offer with a $100 Dell credit to spend by 1/31/21.

-The AMEX Business Platinum card normally offers $100 Dell credit to spend every January-June and $100 Dell credit to spend every July-December. You need to register here for the Dell benefit. Due to the difficulty of using airline fee credits this year, they are doubling the Dell credit to $200 to spend in July-December. There is no need to register for the extra $200 credit. After enrolling, the price for this will be $69.10!

Dell allows you to split a charge among 3 credit cards at checkout. If you have multiple Platinum cards that means you can get a credit on each one by splitting the charge among multiple cards.

@Dan’s note – the one issue I have with the xps is WiFi issues. Big issue.

I had issues in the past with WiFi on my Dell laptop, brought it back to Best Buy (where I bought it) and they fixed the issue in just a few min and Bh have not had an issue since (for at least 4 years now!)

Seems like the HP laptop is a better deal than the Dell Inspiron? Unless I guess if you have an AMEX biz card (which I do not…. yet :-()

    • Dan

Yes, the AMEX discount is key here.

    Have the 2018 XPS 13 4K/touch 16G/512G i7 (swapped in 1TTB NVMe).

It’s been great – excellent for travel

I run it in HD (4K is a battery eater).

I know I may be comparing apples and oranges here, but I am not clear why the Inspiron 2in1 14″ with decent specs (11th Gen i5, 8GB RAM, 1080p touch, 256GB M.2 SSD, backlit keyboard, newest Wifi 6/Bluetooth 5) is only $650 vs this at double the price.

The XPS seems too expensive without even mentioning that the screen is approx 1″ smaller.

I’d love to know why the XPS model is so much more money. Thanks in advance for the education.

the xps is a more premium laptop. Much thinner, smaller form factor and better quality components and build. (not to mention much better looks)

Thanks for the reply. To me it’s not worth 2x the price. But that’s just me.
