Pretty Good Deal!
How does it compare with the 2350 LMT
@abe:
Should be pretty similar except the 1450 has a larger 5″ LCD.
Amazon has it at 168……
I live in nj so 153 plus 11 is 164 I would rather buy from amazon for 168 and have their no hassle return policy, prime shipping etc.
@fred:
Correct, NJ is the one place where this deal may not be worthwhile as that’s the one place where tax is charged, as was pointed out in the post.
Groupon also has their satisfaction guaranteed policy though.
How does this compare to the Garmin 1490LMT? That one is on sale at BJ’s for 149.99. And I have a tax-free account there!
Does it have lane assist?
And beach camera is a reputable retailer too. Its just that with amazon I know all the policies, I’m comfortable with them I have experience to give me the peace of mind. With other retailers I would have to spend time to read up the policies. Who pays return shipping? Is there a restocking fee? Is the policy 15 days 30 days 7 days etc? Do they repond to emails quickly? Do they package things properly? Are the boxes fresh looking or do they look like they were sitting on the shelf for a year? With amazon they always have the latest maps already installed, with others you have to go online and download them within 60 days(for free, but still a hassle). Knowing the answers to all these questions are worth 4 dollars to me personally.
@fred:
I think we’ve already established that in NJ there’s not much of a savings.
In NY though Amazon will be $30 more than groupon though. If they sent you an old box and poorly packaged groupon will stand behind it and refund you.
This model also has free lifetime map updates, so I’m not sure that you are referring to with the 60 days rule.
Are the lifetime map updates for US only? If I buy Israel maps can I get updates for those as well?
1490lmt has bluetooth if that interests you. Its nice if you commute a lot without others in the car….but I have it and don’t use it because everyone in the car will hear your conversation. Also the gps doesn’t speak the directions while using bluetooth for a phone call so you have to watch the screen the whole time. I guess its good for a commuter that basically knows the directions and just uses a gps to check about how much time to the next exit etc.
Are there free maps for Israel?
Thanks!!
I ordered it, but the website (www.beachcamera.com) says it is backordered. I’m really disappointed. Anyone have any ideas if/how I can cancel my order?
Do I do that through Groupon or beachcamera?
Any advice?
