Per Amazon description, this uses the TN-660 toner, which goes for around $50 on Amazon. This is a steal of a deal, I’m buying one for myself now.

You can refill the toner cartridge once or twice and still get good quality. You can get the refill kit for about $5 on eBay. If this is like other Brother printers, it comes with a starter cartridge, and if you want to refill it, it’s a bit more involved. By the way, it looks like this model doesn’t have an automatic document feeder.
trying to find out how many pages will print on one ink cartridge?
@mary e: Some printer boxes have it listed on the specs on the outside of the box. Getting a CSR to read this to you over the phone is YMMV.

True, shipping is an extra $2.99 – however, Newegg only charges tax in NJ while Best Buy charges tax almost anywhere and Amazon charges tax in many states too.
Amazon has the same price as Newegg on the DCP-L2540DW, and with the AMEX 25% off deal it’s a great price.
