It is compatible. you can use up to two GB in each slot totaling 4 GB, however with this you can buy 2 and then have two GB or if your computer came with 1 GB then you must probably have two 512 in there since there are only two slots in most laptops including this one. so if yours came with 1 GB and you buy this 1 GB then you will have to take 1 512 out and then you will have a total of 1.5 GB but then you will lose the DDR Functioning. the best bet is to buy 2 1GB then you will have a total of 2 GB.
Zalmen- thanks so much….I think for $50 i’ll wait it out and see if I can survive on 1 gig with DDR- it’s pretty fast- especially since I wiped vista and am using XP 🙂
Where can I get a list of compatible systems? Anyone know if this will work with a Dell Vostro 1400?
Thanks 🙂

Thanks again,

1) Will it also work on the vostro 1500? 2) Why does dell tell me that it will “fry” my computer if I use these other company’s RAM?
1. Yes
2. Because they want you to buy it for $$$$ directly from them.
I installed RAM on my Dell laptop without a hitch.
