Staples is waiving the $6.95 purchase fee on $200 Visa gift cards through 10/17 in-store only.
Use your Chase Ink Cash Card or Ink Plus card and get 5 points per dollar spent. Office supply stores never charge a fee for retailer gift cards such as Amazon (perfect for Prime Day!) and hundreds more, but these Visa gift cards can be used anywhere!
The weekly ad states that there is a limit of 5 per customer per day, though the fee waiver should apply on up to 10 cards per transaction if your store isn’t a stickler for limits.
You can use the gift cards to buy money orders at Walmart or at various grocery stores and gas stations. Just use the last 4 digits of the card as the PIN number to cash them out.
Or you can donate the gift card to charity and get a receipt for the full face value while earning 5 points per dollar.
Or you can give away a gift card as a wedding or Bar Mitzvah gift.
Or you can always use it for everyday spending while earning 5% or 5 Chase Ultimate Rewards points per dollar everywhere!
I need to spend a little more on a sapphire preferred to hit the bonus. Chase doesn’t flag these transactions for any reason, do they? It’ll count towards the spending?

Call your local store if you want to confirm. It doesn’t need to be in the ad to be on sale.

is there anyone so lucky that can do this? i live in chicago and both local walmarts do not allow the above, and i have yet to find a grcoery store or gas station that sells money orders using visa gc.
If I buy a $200 Visa card, and use it to buy $25 at a supermarket, do they just reduce the Visa card by $25, and then I get the Visa card back? Or do they take the card and give me one of their prepaid cards for $175, which then limits me to using that card only at that supermarket? Does the answer depend upon the particular supermarket, or do they all do the same thing?
You would have $175 value on the Visa. This applies anywhere.
Help! I read this post, bought $1k worth of gift cards but grocery store (Stop & Shop) doesn’t allow purchasing money orders with gift cards and nearest Walmart is Ann hour away??
