Just wondering… If I know that I legally owe the debtor money (I.e. I’m not claiming fraud or anything; I admit that techniacally, I owe this debt), yet my complaint is that the collection agency is harassing me with constant phone calls and such, is that grounds to sue them to stop – and get the debt wiped out in the process (which would kinda be “the icing on the cake”)?

Yes we can often work with it even if they havent contacted you for a while , sometimes the way they are reporting it to the credit reporting agencies is in violation , this is something we can ascertain once we have seen the report.

No hard pull for Equifax or Transunion through myfico.com, though I don’t know of a way to get Experian without a hard pull.

@Dan: Yes Dan you are right all the credit monitoring services don’t have the real scores they are estimated, the only way to obtain a real score is through a hard pull

@Shlomo: It is not a temp fix we get them to release your debt or settle as low as 10 cents on the dollar at times
@Yitzberg: Debt collectors abuse consumers, so we sue them and obtain settlement part of that settlement is a full or partial debt release, they have to pay for our legal fee plus up to $1000 in statutory damages under the FDCPA so what that does is gets rid of your debt and we repair your credit free of charge
