An upgrade one-way for JFK-TLV from business to first on an off-peak day would be 29,250 Avios and on a peak day would be 32,500 Avios.
I’m not sure if they would let you just do the NYC-LHR flight, but if they do then a one-way upgrade from business to first on an off-peak day would be 18K Avios and on a peak day would be 20K Avios.
There needs to be first class award space in order to do an upgrade.

There seems to be a major difference between the AA and BA promotions. BA requires that you register prior to booking, while AA apparently doesn’t.

I’ve completed the first leg by 7/31, but the return leg happened later, so BA refuse to give me the 25K bonus, although the T&C don’t explicitly say you need to complete both segments by 7/31.
Anyone else had better luck with such case?
