Delta has released a ton of nonstop business class award space between JFK and Frankfurt to their partner airlines. This flight is operated on an A330-200 with reverse herringbone lie-flat seats.
The best way to book it would be with 50K Virgin Atlantic or 65K Air France miles one-way. Neither of those airlines charge fuel surcharges for these flights if you book one-way or round-trip from the US.
Plus you can transfer Chase points to Virgin Atlantic with a 30% bonus or Citi or Chase points to Air France with a 25% bonus.
From Frankfurt you can book travel elsewhere in Europe using miles with airlines with other, such as United. If you need to overnight near the airport, Hyatt has 2 category 1 properties nearby for just 3,500-6,500 points per night.

Will you book travel on Delta to Frankfurt?
HT: Gary Leff
Heads up for those looking to take advantage of this….Initiated transfer last night. Still waiting for transfer to complete. So much for instantaneous. Chase can’t expedite
Other routes are available. Just booked CVG to CDG 1-way for 50K VA miles. Between Christmas and New Year.
Only finding availability NYC to FRA one day at 100K. Are any other destinations in Europe a better bet?
I transferred points from chase last night at 9pm. Still no miles in virgin. How long does it usually take.
its hard to find frankfurt flights to israel or their very expensive
Any good options from FRA to TLV?
do u need vaccine if you want to book two separate flights and continue to. Israel not leaving airport ?
I’m checking a delta flight from Bru to jfk on VA and there’s a $278 fuel fee. Any way to avoid this?

Apologies if this is a dumb question but first thank you for posting this as I am looking to book one of these flights now. I recently opened a Chase card with the signup bonus once I spend a certain amount which I will have to quickly do right now by purchasing Visa gift cards. I will need those points to post and then need to transfer them to Virgin points. Any idea how long that’ll all take? Especially the Chase to Virgin Atlantic transfer. Worried it’ll be too late by the time it all goes through to book one of these (the flight says 4 seats remaining at 50k.)
Points post on the statement after completion of the threshold.
FRA-JFK comes up with 344 euro additional charge
You need to book it as a one-way or round-trip from the US to avoid that fuel surcharge.
One-way from Europe with trigger a fuel surcharge.
I realized that, it just didn’t seem so from the post.
Clarified that, thanks.
Delta is truly the worst. For example, I cannot find a single date with saver awards even in economy until at least after the summer for NYC-ZRH. You would think that this is an uber popular route, and there is not a single seat left on these fights.
I don’t call them Skyrubles for nothing!
