I went to my local shoprite a few days ago to buy shoprite giftcards to max out the $400 on this offer… they told me its a store policy that they only accept cash or debit for store gift card purchases…. nobody else has run into this problem?
I just got an email about this offer last week, not at the begginning of it unfortunately, and im going away for the next week… im not about to buy $400 in groceries before i leave or just buy other brand giftcards that im not gonna use…
Dan, is the Visa Vanilla debit gift card different from from regular Visa debit gift cards? I tried cashing some in for a money order at Walmart, as I’ve done in the past with regular Visa debit gift cards, but authorization failed. Any insight?

Those stores are in different countries. And the promo only goes for ShopRite. Chase seems to have some sort of special deal with them

It should work witn SR gift cards. It worked for me last year and I expect to work again this year. Shop Rite does not charge and fees for their gift cards.

That is what they told me as well. Authorized users do not get their own login. Of course this is only a problem if the authorized user can’t be trusted with the login.

I got locked out of my Chase online account a few days ago and when I called they said suspicious activity with too many logging into Chase Pay. I said I tried a few times at Walgreens but it didn’t work but that was a few weeks ago. They then granted me access. Them my wife got locked out for the same reason.
Should we be worried about a shut down? I want to sign my wife up for Chase Hyatt, should I wait?
Their anti fraud measures can be a big hassle. The last two times I tried to do transactions for a Chase Pay promo, I got locked out to the extent that I had to present myself at a branch to prove my identity.
Note that the steel only starts on January 1st not today December 31st
