DEAD!!!
says sold out
btw Costco also sells ou glatt franks in blanks and other hors dourves from a company called spring valley. They’re pretty good. I verified with the ou they are legit.
sold out 🙁
@Deb:
Use the code.
Why is it showing up as $35 on the actual website? how do i get around this??
I bought for $33 before the new discount code dropped it another 5 bucks. Dan you taught me to not delay and jump on the deal ASAP but here it cost me. Dan or JJ please refund me $5 to my card on file. TIA
@mef201:
I don’t think if it is the Berkley BJ’s store brand and do not recall the exact brand but they do carry the franks in blankets and other Kosher Meat hores devores appetizer products the commenter mentioned.
@Rochel:
Read the post update?
What’s the code?
If you go to the OU website and search for “berkley & jensen”, none of the products that come up are meat related (e.g. Franks in blankets that someone mentioned above). Make sure you check the package for the OU before buying.
@David R: @Chani: Looks like it’s too late for me, but maybe others can still try that: “We honor refund requests for 3 days after the purchase date. After that period, it’s our goal to help you redeem your Groupon if you run into any trouble. If you redeem and have a bad experience, we’re always here to make it right.”
Another solution for those that have had membership before is to have your spouse (or anyone who has never had a membership and is willing to go with you) sign up and then you can use the second ‘household’ card that you get for free.
@thenewguy the groupon says it must be activated by 1/1/15 for promotional value, and the Howell location is only set to open mid january. That being said you may need to activate the membership at another location prior to 1/1/15
@Alan: what do you mean by that?
@zow: what are the collar stays and how do you remove them?
thanks Dan, going to use it in Howell when open,may need to activate in another location as it says exp. 1/1/15
I have a recently-lapsed full-fledged BJ’s membership. Am I outta luck?
Never mind… The groupon bucks must be the way they refund your money but it says one will receive the gift card upon getting the membership. Thanks
Dan,
It showed my $7 discount and $25 “Groupon Bucks” for a total price of $3. Does that mean they switched the $25 BJs Gift card to Groupon Bucks? That’s not as good a deal as getting it directly from BJs.
I just did the same. Can you get refunded and order it again?
Howell BJ’s is supposed to open January 10th
I chatted with them online
I bought the Groupon for $35 without any code to reduce the price, but I did not activate my membership yet. Any way to return and buy it again at the lower price?
however, their gas station is opening mid-december 2014.
the howell BJ’s is opening mid-january 2015. i chatted with them online to get this info.
Yes, BJ’s has a very lame 30 day return policy… now who goes to BJs twice in a month? So you’d have to make an extra trip just to return. Thats why i only buy food there, nothing else.
Bjs doesnt have the same no questions asked return policy that costco has… something to keep in mind…
Is there a lot of kosher food at BJ’s? I’ve only had experience with Costco, so I want to make sure it’s worth it. Thanks
Use code OFF5 to bring it down to $33.25.
@CT:
I always remove them, whether self-laundry or cleaners. I figured everyone did that.
Question: is bj membership needed to shop in BJ’s lie Costco? Are there day passes or some other thing for non members? Do you save by using your membership?
the bj and movie theater on the Lakewood Howell border that’s being built by some people of Lakewood should be opening in beginning of Dec so this might be a good deal to buy now. even if they give a 60 day free trail you can wait to activate this afterwards.
@Dan’s the Man: Just every time they had a coupon in the paper, probably three or four times a year. It’s not like they recognized me or anything, but they had me in their system.
Anyone suggest remove color stays of CT?
OK at cleaners? want to maintain it well
@yy: Were you using them every 61 days? 🙂
@Moshe Goldblatt: I don’t think you could use the living social deal on the $30 sale. I don’t know for sure but I believe that is the case. Check your Amex cards for an Amex offer. I have an Amex offer for $30 off. I bought one of their shirts once and the collar stays made the collar rip so I don’t know how good the quality is.
I used to serially use the coupons for BJs trial memberships. At some point they said that since I’d done it before, I couldn’t do it again. Of course, that was a free 60-day membership and this is a non-free annual membership, so YMMV.
1) I bought the previous BJ’s groupon a few months ago and they accepted even though I was a member previously
2) They have BJ’s brand FRANKS IN BLANKS that are OU GLATT and are very reasonably priced.
They also have cocktail party pastries like spicy chicken, steak, etc, also BJs brand and OU GLATT, really good.
can you cancel membership at any time and get a refund like costco?
@Dan’s the Man:
Thanks for sharing.
@Moshe Goldblatt:
Not stackable like that.
Charles tyrwhitt is having a sale on shirts for $30. Plus Living Social is selling a $100 voucher for $50. That’s about $70 for 4 shirts. Didn’t try it myself but it should work.
@Shmuel: I’ve done a few trial memberships over the years and they never said anything so I think you should be fine.
Yeah, just a bit of a hassle. Wondering if anyone has had this experience. Thanks, Dan, for all the deals!
@Shmuel:
Try it and see.
Worst case if you call Groupon for a refund. Just be sure to try it soon.
It says in the fine print that this is for new members only. Anyone know if it’ll work if I had a trial membership like a year ago?
