Sprint sent this email today to their subscribers:
Apparently Sprint thinks it’s a perk to pay “just” $131.88 per year for Amazon Prime when anyone can signup for Prime directly from Amazon for $99 per year with a free 30 day trial. (Never mind the occasional promotions that pop up).
Sadly, the email doesn’t lead to an April Fools landing page, it leads to a real signup page.
Apparently Sprint is in such deep financial trouble that this is what they have to resort to…

Hot!! If you booked hotel with starwoods before the rate changed last month and now if you cancel the reservation, the amount starwood puts back into your account is the updated amount. So if you booked points at category 4 hotel for 12k and the hotel changed to category 5, and you cancel, you should receive 16k points back to your account per night. Worked for me, not sure if this is a glitch.
This is actually an AMAZON offering, they now offer Prime on a monthly basis. Sprint is just partnered to offer it as a direct billing option.

Yes. Amazon Prime can be added to multiple lines on your account. For every account that you add it to, you will be charged $10.99/month.
@Chaim: It’s still not a good deal. Me, my wife, and my kids all are logged into my Amazon account and all get free steaming. I’m not sure if we could stream at the same time if that’s what you’re referring to.
Anyone know if the $10.99 per month charge is per account or per line?
If one has say 5 lines on an account, providing 5 people with membership for $10.99 per month would be extremely good.
Mind blowing that anyone would complain about this. Just like with about every other service in life, if you pay annually it is cheaper than paying monthly. This isn’t sprint ripping people off. If anything Amazon has to charge more due to people paying for this only when they need it.
I guess it is trying to compete with T-Mobile’s binge on ( unlimited streaming from any video sources). The only problem is most of their plans have unlimited data to begin with.

Sprint is offering 20k AA miles if you’re a new subscriber. Am considering signing up for one month to got the 20k and leave immediately.

T mobile has a similar promo that Netflix and any music you stream doesn’t count against your data
If you need it for a short time, you could, ya know, try their trial. Which is super expensive=free.
Where are you guys seeing that it includes unlimited data?
It says unlimited streaming, but data charges do apply.
Besides, don’t most Sprint plans have unlimited data anyway?

Not sure why you have sprint Dan. But if you read carefully the promotion is for unlimited streaming of Amazon prime. This wouldn’t be charged against your data package. That is the seeming point here. Watch wherever whenever no need for Wi-Fi
Maybe it’s the monthly option they’re claiming is their “special deal” (although I believe Amazon has a monthly for less)
Seems that the price is per month so you can cancel any time while Amazon charges you for the full year upfront
The Consumerist article about this suggests two reasons why someone may use this:
1. They just want to use Prime for a month or two.
2. They can’t afford $99 right now.
Neither are good long-term financial decisions but Sprint is clearly preying on those who can’t or don’t make good decisions.

Wow will have to start shopping for a new plan I guess…I had high hopes for Sprint once they made the smart business decision to partner with Radio Shack locations! đ
I suspect the extra charge is for the unlimited data used to stream it on LTE.
I think it is a valid option since with Prime you cannot subscribe month-to-month. This gives you the option to have prime enabled for a month that you want.
This is good if you need prime for a short term.
