Effective on 7/8, Hawaii will ditch their onerous Safe Travels Hawaii testing program for people who upload their US issued CDC vaccination card before they travel. That’s when Hawaii project they will reach a 60% vaccination rate, but the new rules will apply even if they miss that projection.
Unfortunately kids 5 and older will still need to participate in the testing scheme, despite not being eligible for the vaccine.
Earlier this year I shared my Safe Travel Hawaii experience flying to Maui and Molokai. We got lucky going in February before the crowds returned, now it costs a fortune to rent a car there, if you can even find one available.
Hawaii has said that they will lift all restrictions when they hit a 70% vaccination rate, but that will be a tough hurdle to clear as vaccination rates have dwindled.
Will you visit Hawaii now that they will accept vaccination cards for entry?
Are there any guarantees that our rental cars will actually be available fir the $50 a day we have guaranteed? Any suggestions? Any forums on finding kosher toasters or other cooking items?
F- Hawaii politicians…..vaccines work and children are not a risk….so stop the nonsense now and let’s move on with life….
I am about to get vaccinated in Israel and assumed I would have no problems in America but it seems that for some things you will need a US issued card.
Too late for us, we decided to cancel our Kauai vacation due to the ridiculous requirements and we are going to spend our time and money in Cabo instead! And yes I am vaccinated lol!
Finally!
Car on Maui now costing more than a condo-any ideas?
At least one sane place!
How do I upload my vaccination card? I’m going end of july
