Update: Alive again!
Update: DEAD!
T-Mobile is offering a free hotspot for 30 days, up to 30GB of data.
You can test drive T-Mobile’s network by using WiFi from the hotspot on your phone and see how it compares to your own carrier.
- Not valid for current T-Mobile customers or customers that have taken a trial in the past 6 months.
- No credit card or credit check is required.
- You do not need to return the hotspot at the end of the 30 days.
Ordered and received it 2 days later. Set it up and connected from my phone. It pops up a window to activate/sign in so I clicked on it. It took me to T-Mobile’s site, and gave me a “Page Has Moved-404”. So it is currently unusable. I called the number on the 404 page. Got put in a queue for a callback. 10 minutes later I got the callback and after talking to her for a few minutes, she discovered that this is a “prepaid” account and she only does postpaid. Back in another queue for an estimated 30 minutes. So far, they have done nothing to improve my opinion of the company.
Hmmmm, I don’t recall having to go to any site to get it to work
The title still says 20GB, but T-Mobile (and the article) say 30GB
Thanks!
Just ordered one
I tried, wanted to see if their network is any better after their Sprint merger. Since I am a Sprint customer, I am not qualified 🙁
i got a couple of them last time but it needed to be activated with in 30 days
It doesn’t work if you are a sprint customer 🙁
It also doesn’t work if you live at the address of a Sprint customer.
How long does the shipping take?
I got it in 2 days
If I were to cancel at the end, could I use the hotspot with an existing t-mobile sim card after the 30 days?
Yes you can, no need to cancel anything (also works with T-Mobile sub companies)
thanks dan!!!
Order Is confirmed!
Order confirmation success!
Thanks Dan!
Success!
Tx @Dan
Anyone know if you’re able to test the 5g network or is it just LTE?
just LTE
Yes
Still available?
I wonder why I din’t receive mine . I got email saying I got it, it was coming … Yet nothing arrived. Then I may have erased it all .
Is this offer dead already?
its after the 30 day trail and its still working. will they bill me?
Just got mine! Thanx Dan!
Thank you! Dan I got 1 on the way.
Do you need to activate it? if yes, how?
Can a laptop connect to the wifi or only my phone?
Any device can connect to a hotspot.
T-Mobile asks for a phone number. I assume this is just a contact number and not for porting (since it’s a hotspot!). Correct? Thanks.
Correct.
Thanks Dan! I saw that T-Mobile has a hotspot calculator page to recommend different plans (after the trial). No clue how much they cost though! https://www.t-mobile.com/Tools/HotSpot-calc.htm
So if anyone was wondering why they were doing this, here’s your answer.
Do I need to start the 30 days right away it can I wait?
You can wait.
Where does it state you can wait? Also, curious when the 30 days start.
You can sign up for T-Mobile Test Drive above — there is no need to visit a store. Then the T-Mobile Test Drive hotspot will be shipped to you for free and your trial will begin when you insert the SIM card into the hotspot device and activate it for the first time on the T-Mobile network.
How long can I wait?
Thanks Dan!
You da Man!
Doesn’t seem to specify.
Got mine. The sim card says it needs to be activated by 10/21!!!
I tried it with my Google-Fi sim card and it worked! (not sure about out of the country)
10/21? Aug 21 2020, or Aug 2021?
sorry Oct 21 2020, or Oct 2021?
Oct 21 2019
That post was from last year when this deal was originally posted
got mine now and it says that it needs to be activated before 2023!
Can a few phones be connected at once?
Sure.
I was just chatting with a T-Mobile employee about what to do with the Hotspot after 30 days and this is what they answered:
That’s a good question! Once the trial is over (30 days) you must return the hotspot device at a local T-Mobile store for recycling or hand it off to a friend so they can try out T-Mobile too! 🙂
DROP – don’t rely on phone rep
check the written terms and conditions
Do you have to return it when you’re done?
Read the post?
Clever idea
How can we figure out if this Mi-Fi device would work with other SIMs?
I believe it is locked to T-Mobile, but try your luck!!
I’ve used a google-fi sim card in a t-mobile locked phone. Google-fi uses their towers. If the Google-fi sim card would work in the mifi pack, then you can probably use it overseas. You would need to set up the google-fi apn settings….
Google Voice Numbers work
Any idea how long it takes to ship and get delivered?
I ordered it the last time this was posted and it took a while for my device to arrive.
Any gimmick?
Generally, until you need to enter credit card info, it should be “gimmick free”, though you may see some junk mail which you can unsubscribe from.
Is the device worth anything after 30 days?
What can I do with it?
Does it work in Israel?
“includes 200MB roaming. (Which means in USA) Your non‑T‑Mobile rate plan terms also apply. Coverage not available in some areas. Not for international use.”
It’s free, and that’s a great price – PewDiePie
Congrats on 100m
Why the Pritzus ad for vacation in Hawaii?
Awkward….
Welcome to the month of Elul!

One second- is there an aveira to consider a vacation in Hawaii??
Don’t jump to conclusions! If you do a simple search for “vacations”, google will try to sell you whatever they can. What do you think, he searched for “pritzus”? Even if he searched plain “vacations”, or “flights to Hawaii”, they will show pritzus, because that is the general public’s idea of a Hawaiian vacation.
I think that Dan wasn’t even trying to make a point about what that commentator was searching for on google, only that it wasn’t he who chose the ad on his website, rather google on the individual persons browser.
Mild compared to the original:
