TSA PreCheck makes flying much easier. Shorter lines, no need to remove your shoes, belt, jacket, or hat. You can keep your laptop and small liquids inside your carry-on. And you go through a good old fashioned metal detector instead of assuming the position in the body scanner.
Along with Clear, PreCheck can be a huge time saver.
Until now El Al flights have not been eligible for PreCheck. But that changed today as the airline has finally joined the PreCheck program. They aren’t yet listed on the PreCheck participating airlines page, but I assume that will be added shortly.
Children 12 and under can use PreCheck together with their parents that have PreCheck.
You can get PreCheck included if you have Global Entry, which has become more fantastic than ever of late. You skip the long customs lines when you re-enter the US and you no longer have to answer any questions with Global Entry. That meant I was able to catch a connecting flight in Newark after landing over 2 hours late from Johannesburg. It took just 20 minutes from the time of landing until I rechecked my bag and was at my gate in another terminal!
Thanks to credit cards that cover the fee, it’s the best money I never spent.
Kids of all ages do need to have their own Global Entry membership.
PreCheck alone costs $85 per 5 years and Global Entry with PreCheck is $100 per 5 years, but you can get Global Entry and/or PreCheck for free by applying with cards like:
- Citi AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard
- Chase Sapphire Reserve
- Chase IHG Premier
- Chase United Explorer
- Chase United Quest
- Chase United Club Infinite
- Chase Southwest Performance Business Card
- The Business Platinum Card® from American Express (including on free secondary cards!)
- AMEX Platinum Consumer Card (including on free secondary cards!)
- Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant™ American Express® Card
- Delta Platinum Business AMEX
- Delta Reserve Business AMEX
- Delta Platinum AMEX
- Delta Reserve AMEX
- US Bank Altitude Connect Visa Signature Card
- Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card
- Capital One® Spark® Miles for Business
- Capital One Venture X Card
- And more!
Will this make you more likely to fly El Al?
El Al website accepting Global Entry numbers not TSA Trusted Traveler TT numbers
El Al website not accepting TSA Trusted Traveler TT numbers
can i pay with a CC not in my name
No because elal has their dumb passport check before you check in and that can easily add an hour
Any idea when one might be able to add a Known Traveler Number to an El Al profile/reservation?
Same happens with the late night Delta flight out of JFK – TSA Pre-check is already closed….
Clear also closes early at terminal 4 JFK
What time do they close?
i think 8
I wonder what this will do at terminal B at EWR where Elal passes through security TSA Pre doesn’t operate at that part of the terminal.
Unless something has recently changed, there are no PreCheck lanes at EWR Terminal B3 where the ELAL flights depart from, so this seems to only help at JFK or other cities.
Can a child under 12 go with parents for global entry?
“Kids of all ages do need to have their own Global Entry membership.”
No, This will absolutely not make me fly ElAl, but its a nice perk if I do fly ElAl.
pre-check during busy times can be just as bad as regular, Clear is a must have.
Even when the lines are equally long, precheck moves must faster.
But yes, clear is amazing.
Is there any reason to be nervous about trusting a third party with my biometric data?
Not if you own any bitcoin
