United announced last year that they would keep their reduced qualification requirements to earn elite status in 2022.
Clearly that’s not all that’s planned to keep elite members on the hamster wheel, as they have deposited up to 3,000 PQPs in their accounts today. You can click on mileage activity to view the deposit:
With American now counting miles earned from credit card spending towards status, they aren’t likely to feel the same pressure as United to offer bonuses like this so early in the year.
Delta has extended all status for 2 years now, and rolled over all MQMs to this year. Delta has also extended the ability to earn MQMs, MQS, and MQDs on award travel in 2022, as they began offering last year.
Now, we just need hotel programs to jump on the bandwagon for another year.

I earned 1k last year the hard way- 4 RT to HNL plus some east coast flying- and I got 3k PGP. I keep earning back my plus points too despite using them for upgrades to lay flat so I’m pretty pleased with UA last 2 years. I should also make million miler this year.
