    What’s the cheapest hotel?

  2. If only...

The $250/off is great, but the issue with the all-inclusive hotels (for the kosher consumer) is that you’re paying for food you can’t eat.

    • Dan

Can still be a good deal even without food.
Anyone try getting kosher food at any of these hotels?

      • Noah32

Hyatt Ziva Cancun is VERY accommodating.

They will basically do whatever you ask them including having them cook in front of you with your own pans/spatula. Eggs, fish, etc. Obviously ask your LOR but they will even let you turn on the burner. They will double wrap anything and will use all plastic or paper cutlery.

Besides that they have kosher cereal and snacks (Snickers, etc) that are included free.

I already have reservations for January. This deal is great! Thanks, Dan.

Ziva Cancun: they have kosher (cholov stam) milk, and they are happy to show you the hechsher. They also have kosher cereals. They have a designated coffee shop. They also have a candy shop with cut up fruit and fondue. Finally, drinks are totally free and unlimited, and they’re constantly walking around the pool to bring you more- that’s definitely something. And the restaurants are a five minute walk away.

Hyatts in Montego Bay did not seem accommodating at all. Here is the reply from GM and from F&B Manager
        – Our Resort does not offer a Kosher selection, however you are welcome to take your own meals if desired, and we will facilitate the storage and reheating. The Island requires a permit for prepared meals, and the attached document provides you with the guidelines on achieving this. Please be advised that this process has to be done independently and not in tandem with the resort. There is a Jewish restaurant located in town, which offers delivery service and is available at 876 452 3223 or info@chabadofjamaica.com. While the resort can refer this location for convenience purposes, we are not in direct partnership with this entity and fully disclaim responsibility.

        and
        – Regretfully we don’t carry any kosher items.

        • Noah32

Uh what exactly were you expecting? That seems very accommodating to me.

        • Yelped

          That is actually very accommodating.

Can you split the purchase between multiple hyatt cards?

  4. Lynn

Problem is many of them are now charging a deposit. Cancun and Punta Canta do. I was even charged a deposit recently on the Grand Hyatt Nassau for $128 booking it with points!

      • Lynn

I believe they charge the deposit right away, so that would be before the promo starts and I don’t know how much or if it would count toward the $500? I need to call about the $128 that I was charged even with points at the Grand Hyatt Nassau. That charge came through immediately.

        • Dan

You can get the deposit refunded at check-in.

          • Lynn

I checked on the charge and they called the hotel and said the charge would be refunded to my credit card since the nights are on points. Or, like you said, can get it refunded at check-in. I still wonder if the deposit for this promo ended up being $500, if booked with cash, if that would trigger the $250 refund? Says they charge a deposit at Cancun and Punta Cana.

  5. Meirk

I will be checking in to hyatt ziva cancun tomorrow and will report back.

  6. Robert Anderson

I am leary about adding my credit card to this site. Is the site legit?

  7. Yossi

If my wife and I each have our own hyatt credit cards, can we spend $500 on hers and $500 on mine (ie split up a $1,000+ booking reservation) and then we’d effectively get $500 off total? If anyone knows the answer, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Hyatt Ziva Cancun (Turquoize) Swim up suite, is a thing of legend! First off totally worth it and the best goshmius trip of my life BY FAR. Those it stink that you have all you can eat high end restaurants and food everywhere, but you cant even walk in, sure it stinks. HOWEVER, ALL YOU CAN DRINK, it was nuts like being at a 3 day wedding with an open bar and the bars are EVERYWHERE, on the beach, pool, adults only pool, hallways, EVEN YOUR ROOM comes with a bottle of whatever you like. Many products where cholov akum so we could not eat them, but If we were not cholov yisroel then it would have been fun. (CANDY STORE and coffee shop, plus the 24/7 market. The kicker is you have 2 AMAZING kosher restaurants just a 5 minute walk away. We walked there for everything and picked up food on our way back from Xplor (highly recommended). Then ate the food in our private pool on top of the beach. Can get better than that! (goshmius wise). Highly recommended and a big yasherkoiach to Dan for this post as it just forced me to go back and I opened up a Hyatt card all because of you too. Love this place and the yidden that are there. Ask for Danny at the Red Heifer grill he is an amazing chef and takes care of everyone. Prices are amazing due to our dollar being 20 times better. Also car rentals are dirt cheap, just watch a few you tube videos on driving there and you should be fine. Besides, Xplor we went to Cenote Zapote which is a thing of legend and jumping from a 33 foot cliff was EPIC. Enjoy and remember we did this in shvim clide, beard, tzitzis, and all so you can for sure go and have a blast.

    • noah32

I’ve stayed in that room as well. You are spot on. Unbelievable.

I don’t keep cholov yisroel, is some of the chocolate in the candy store kosher?

      • Abe Da\'Babe

Yes look around and you will see a bunch of things that were kosher, non-cholov yisroel. Be careful and speak to your rov about covering up food that they prepare, because besides the fact that you can not trust someone with kashrus if they are not shomer shabbas let alone not a jew, the other HUGE issue is that a non jew cant not cook your food for you without you actually turning on the fire etc etc. It will be bishul akum, which is 100% treif. This comment is not directed towards you, rather towards the comments and people that I know who have the kitchen cook or bake their food. Obviously microwaves are different.

Went to Hyatt Cancun in June and they were extremely accommodative. Double (actually, triple) wrapped our salmon every day and made sure we had fruit and kosher cereal and milk every morning. There are also a number of kosher restaurants (albeit, a bit overpriced) within walking distance. Added bonus, they have a cafe onsite for those caffeine addicts out there.
