Several DDF members have posted that they were targeted for a spend bonus on their Starwood business card.
You can login to your AMEX account via this link to check if you are targeted.
If you are targeted and spend $5,000 on your SPG card you’ll get 10,000 total Starpoints. If you spend $10,000 on your SPG card you’ll get 20,000 total Starpoints. The spending must be completed by 10/15.
My cards aren’t targeted, are yours?
“Qualifying purchases do NOT include fees or interest charges, balance transfers, cash advances, purchases of travelers checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, or purchases of other CASH EQUIVALENTSâ€â€¦.
@Dan serve should count towards spending goals, correct?
i was targeted, trying to understand the logic of that???
I was targeted, but I’m not going to take the bait. Given the uncertainty surrounding Starpoints w/impending merger w/Marriott Rewards, I prefer to not incur the opportunity cost of losing out on the purchase of $5K worth of Visa GCS on my Chase Ink to get 5x URs. Since VISA GCs to MOs is not that easy for me, and since I would want to MS the offer, I’d rather stick with Chase and forgo this offer…
My business account is targeted and my personal SPG card is not.
targeted. thanks!
Got the offer on 2 out of my 3 SPG business cards.
Targeted for:
You are now registered in the Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card Special Offer. Use your card now through 10/15/16 to earn an additional 5,000 Starpoints after you spend $5,000 on qualifying purchases*, and an additional 5,000 Starpoints after you spend an additional $5,000 on qualifying purchases, for a maximum of 10,000 Starpoints.
“Qualifying purchases do NOT include fees or interest charges, balance transfers, cash advances, purchases of travelers checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, or purchases of other CASH EQUIVALENTSâ€â€¦.
@Dan does that mean serve wont count towards spending?
how is this different then spending 5k (without an invite) and receiving the points?
Neither my husbands or my business accounts were targeted. Also noticed no other AMEX offers. Have they been discontinued?
Dan, anyway to get an account targeted?
@Dan: yes you did.. my fault
Got it on two biz cards; replenish my SPG pts after the two transfer to VA
Not Targeted. Thanks Dan
Awesome. Thanks Dan!
@zanvel:
No, that’s referring to cash advances.
@Dan: Oh just saw that, so that’s including normal spend. Ehh, I guess it’s a good offer if you were going to use your card anyways. I have too many other cards to use for signup bonuses right now.
@Dan: You wrote $5K for 10 or $10k for 20. Mine was half of that ($5k for 5 or $10k for 10).
here is a quote of the fine print
“Qualifying purchases do NOT include fees or interest charges, balance transfers, cash advances, purchases of travelers checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, or purchases of other CASH EQUIVALENTS”….
does that take care of G.C spending…?
Not targeted 🙁
I don’t have a business card… And I wasn’t invited… 😩
@J:
No, I wrote total Starpoints. Base+bonus.
@Dan: Dan, you wrote 10K points for $5K and 20K pionts for $10K. It’s actually half that unless there are cards targeted for the offer you stated (i.e. 2 points for every dollar)
Thanks. Worked.
I was targeted. I am happy and not complaing, it is Strange though, I don’t understand why they would target me I spend approximately hundred thousand dollars a month. Why offer me a bonus?
One out of four…………..
Business card got it
@Daniel:
Yes.
@Joe S:
Lol, that’s exactly the offer I wrote in the post!
Only my bizz card was targeted, it has not been used in a few months because SPG value tanked. I will use it now for 10k
Thank you Dan
Worked for me!!!! Thanks Dan….

@MIMB:
Yup, just start a new thread.
I was targeted, but not with the same award amounts… I got, earn 5000 after spending $5000 and an additional 5k for spending another $5k.
Would I check my SPG account to see if it’s targeted for a bonus?
how does one go about posting these deals on the forums? I wanted to do it but wasn’t sure if i start a new thread or what
my SPG business cards were targeted for 10k bonus
mine isn’t either, such a great value of points but frugal when it comes to earning points
I’m not.
We’re sorry. This promotion is only open to invited Card Members.
Reports indicate it only works for the business cards (mine isn’t targeted though)
