Normally you earn 2 Starpoints per dollar spent in a Starwood hotel (plus an additional 2 Starpoints if you pay with a Starwood AMEX and another additional point if you are Starwood Gold/Platinum)
For the month of September you can earn a substantial 500 Starpoints per night bonus on top of all that. Promo registration is required prior to the stay and promo registration must be completed by 09/15. Valid for stays from 09/01-09/30.
In the promo Starwood also hints to a “SPG You-Choose” year end promo coming on 09/16-and it sounds like it should be pretty good!
