Update: Just 1 week left to take advantage of this promotion.
While you have to book by next Tuesday, you can stay through the end of scheduling.  The all-suite W Koh Samui property is hit with a double whammy after next week.  It already charges double the normal SPG category rate due to the all-suite designation.  It will climb from 26K/night to 60K/night due to this promotion ending and it will climb from a category 6 to a category 7 property.

Starwood is running a promotion that is discounting select resorts by 35%.

You can book these rates all the way until 03/03/15 and you can stay anytime.

Eligible SPG resorts:
-W Retreat, Koh Samui, Thailand. Normally 40K/night. Now 26K/night or 20,800/night if you stay for 5 nights.
-Vana Belle, Koh Samui, Thailand. Normally 40K/night. Now 26K/night or 20,800/night if you stay for 5 nights.
Pine Cliffs Residence, Albufeira, Portugal. Normally 40K/night. Now 26K/night or 20,800/night if you stay for 5 nights.
-Al Maha, Dubai, UAE. Normally 60K/night. Now 39K/night or 31,200/night if you stay for 5 nights.
Le Meridien Bora Bora. Normally 60K/night. Now 39K/night or 31,200/night if you stay for 5 nights.
W Retreat and Spa Maldives. Normally 90K/night. Now 58,500/night or 46,800/night if you stay for 5 nights.

It’s difficult to book these resorts online, so you’ll need to call SPG or use their click to chat option when logged in on SPG.com to book them.

You can read more about the overwater bungalow at the absolutely incredible W Retreat Maldives in my trip report here.

Bear in mind that the discounted rates are for the base room only, you’ll have to call/email the hotel directly if you want to arrange a confirmed upgrade to an overwater bungalow in places like Bora Bora or the Maldives.

When I last checked the prices for a confirmed upgrade to an overwater bungalow with a private plunge pool the W Maldives wanted $180/night.

The Le Meridien Bora Bora wanted $220/night when I last checked the price of a confirmed upgrade to an overwater bungalow. However they also said via email that as a Platinum member if there were any overwater bungalows for sale on the day of checkin they would refund the entire confirmed upgrade fee!

    @steve:
35% off only applies to base rooms.
Anything else you would have to negotiate directly with the property as an upgrade after booking.

@anonymous. There is a website that lists all the over water bungalows. Some of them are in the carribean. Although, the ones in the pacific area are supposed to be far nicer.

R there any over-water bungalows in the caribbean? If not what is the best mileage value from all the loyalty programs to get there?
    Thanks

Only shows me cash price. How do I see the points price?
