This is a new cheaper Fire tablet that Amazon is coming out with. Don’t buy this with the intent to resell. By Black Friday it will probably be like $30 by next year $20.
This is a new tablet and as PCgeek said, $50 is the reg price, and therefore, this is not a sale price. It appears that the cheaper price is primarily due to the fact that the screen is not a high level HD — indeed, it doesn’t carry the HD designation. The resolution is 1024 x 600 (171 ppi), as compared to 1280 x 800 (252 ppi) for the HD 6, and 1280 x 800 (189 ppi) for the HD 8, and 1280 x 800 (149 ppi) for the HD 10. Amazon does say that its the best screen for under $50.
Depending on your needs, it still seems like a great value.
