Any deals for just the metal bowl that I can use with the mixer I already have?

  2. y

does the “universal” mean that it works with 220 voltage

  3. Ben

Anyone interested in selling? Can’t get the price on amazon anymore

which 1 do u want i have both i was also unsure

I wish I could. But the machine will probably wear off a lot faster. With the white base and stainless bowl you really need to hold onto the machine when it’s challah dough is turning to make sure it doesnt break. It might not be strong enough for a 6lb challah dough. It’ll work but will break a lot easier. Am I wrong? Don’t think so but hope. This deal is amazing if I get to save space on another chunky bowl.

Just made intensive inquiries with a big Jewish appliance store. If u get this stainless steel plus package, u will still need to buy an additional stainless steel “challah” bowl. This stainless bowl is not good enough for challah even though it looks the same. The difference between this plus and the regular white base for $299 is the look, it’s much prettier and also much sturdier but still not for challah. You end up not gaining much besides for getting something stronger and nicer but for the purpose that this does both it does not.

Yes just did my research too and heard the same – this bowl is NOT the challah bowl. but i do know people who have used the regular old white one for 5lb challa for many years

      • Dan

As do I. The need to upgrade is overblown.

        • aron

dan, many people liked me make challah from 6 lbs of flour. it barely fits into the bigger stainless bowl that has no shaft in middle. I cant imagine this bowl working with 6 lbs. of flour.
          thank you!

    • Dan

Sorry, but they’re biased and trying to sell you a more expansive product.
You can make challah with this or even a plastic bowl.

the only thing you get different here is a stainless steel bowl as apposed to a while one ? (and some extra baking attachments)?or is this one to replace the need of buying the “challa bowl” – the transitional stainless steel bowl with hook on bottom

    • Sf

Does not replace. Even though originally I thought it does and was all excited. I really checked into this and confirmed with a big Jewish appliance store to make sure.

  7. Max

If it has the stick in middle, how’s it possible to use for challes

    • New to Bosch

How much of a difference does this make?

  8. Mk

I just bought the regular Bosch mixer, will that not work for challah?

    • Dan

It will, but stainless is more durable and should last longer.

      • Mk

        Thanks for the quick response!
Is it worth the extra $100?
Do I need to buy any add-ons to the other machine to use it for challah?

  9. Ephraim Obadia

Fyi The newer Bosch mixers only come with the stainless steel bowl that has a plastic center shaft exactly like the regular plastic bowl. The old traditional stainless steel bowl that has the dough hook that attaches from the bottom can only be bought separately. The way to tell the difference between the 2 types of steel bowls is the round ring under the bowl. The new ones have it, the old ones don’t.

    • New to Bosch

How does the old traditional stainless steel bowl compare to this new one? Is the dough hook attaching from the bottom that big a deal?

  10. LoveBaking

Thanks. I just canceled my other Bosch order for $299. This is a way better deal.

    • was a bit confused

it has the stick in the middle of the bowl, like the white bowl, you attach the beaters for cakes to the metal bowl. you only need one bowl for this machine.

  11. rh

Doesn’t look like the white bowl is included, but it has the beaters for the white bowl.

  12. Davidthebest

Does it include the white bowl too?

      • dg

so why do they have the beater attachment that does not go on to the silver bowl?
