What’s AMD processor? How where does that fall in relation to i3, i5, and i7?

AMD’s Ryzen processors. Look at specifications on notebookcheck.net, but the R3/R5/R7 processors should line up evenly against Intel’s i3/i5/i7 line for laptop applications. AMD’s laptop processor will be much better at graphics-intensive (game) applications than Intel’s processor alone. However, some laptops with Intel processors also have nVidia dedicated graphics processors that may outperform the Ryzen processors at the cost of slightly worse battery life. Intel’s processor will be better at single-threaded processor tasks than AMD’s processor, but AMD’s processor is better at multi-threaded tasks, which covers a much broader spread of applications. Laptops with AMD processors might have slightly worse battery life than laptops with Intel-only processors, and will likely be about even with laptops configured with Intel and nVidia processors.

OEM support is crucial for laptops; I would suggest looking at reviews of the specific models, regardless of processor, before buying.

Which credit card would be the best to purchase a laptop with? Approximately $1000. Thanks
