Update: The 40%+15% off sale ends tonight.
The gift cards are no longer discounted unless you bought them last week, but don’t forget to use them if you already locked in the additional 14.3% savings on those as well!
———————————————————————————
Originally posted on 12/24:
From now through 12/27 Brooks Brothers is offering 15% off sitewide on top of 40% off 4+ dress shirts. This makes for absolutely fantastic price for the retail shirts!
Today only, you can also lock in 14.3% off gift cards as described below.
You must continue to the final checkout page to view all of the discounts and free shipping described in this post.
Brooks Brothers retail store dress shirts are very high quality shirts. Their outlet shirts leave much to be desired, but their retail shirts have held up very well for me over the years and the non-iron fabric they use is great. They have 4 different fits to choose from, extra slim, slim, regular, and traditional.
These are much higher quality shirts than Charles Tyrwhitt, which have gone downhill in quality very rapidly of late.
-Regularly priced dress shirts start at $65, so this sale bring down the price of those shirts to $33.15 after 40%+15% off (Or as low as $28.40 with gift cards purchased at a 14.3% discount as described below)
-Non-iron shirts start at $82, so the sale brings down the price of those shirts to $41.82 after 40%+15% off (Or as low as $35.67 with discounted gift cards purchased at a 14.3% discount as described below)
-Most of the dress shirts are $92, so the sale brings down the price of those shirts to $46.92 after 40%+15% off (Or as low as $40.02 with discounted gift cards purchased at a 14.3% discount as described below)
You’ll also get free 2nd day shipping and free return shipping by just signing into your Shoprunner account. (Don’t have a Shoprunner account? If you have an AMEX you can signup for free!)
But you can do even better! For every $150 eGift card that you buy through today only you’ll get a $25 bonus eGift card. That’s an additional 14.3% off!
So you can get 4 of the $92 shirts for just $187.68 shipped, and you’ll save another $25 by buying a $150 eGift card now, making the total out of pocket just $162.68 for 4 shirts or just $40.67 per shirt. That’s as inexpensive as Brooks Brothers retail shirts ever get!
Or if you buy $600 in eGift cards you’ll get a bonus $100. 15 of the $92 shirts will be $703.80, so you’ll pay $603.80 out of pocket or just $40.25/shirt!
You must buy increments of $150 eGift cards for the $25 bonus. You can buy up to 5 of the $150 gift cards in one transaction for $125 in bonus eGift cards.
Post what other deals you find!
Dan
I just chapped
My bad!
Enjoy the sale 😉
@Barbara:
Most Likely because the 15% off on top of the 40% off is only 15% off the reduced price after the first discount. It doesn’t come out to 55% off.
@Dan
Use code REG1x for additional $10 off
Done! Fantastic deal, thanks!!
Did it. A great deal , but why do I get 4 $92shirts less 40% less15% less $175 in gift cards coming to approx. $47 ?
@ Dan
thanks justwanna give anothe tip tha by making an account on the bb qebsite gets you a code via enail for $10 off $50
@eli:
Read the post update.
i dont see the gift card deal ?
Anybody know how the BB spread collar compares to the CT cut-away collar?
i got 4 shirts with tax and free shipping came out to 42 great deal thanks alot
If anyone would like to sell their e gift card with the bonus, Id like to buy one…. Please respond
Never mind Dan, i figured it out!
1 thing i didnt double check before i commented, and that was my calculations!
so basically , you can order different sizes n still get the 4 off 40%.
thanx for all you hard n easy work!!!
yes. 92.00
@L.S.:
Don’t need to be the same size.
But are they the same original price?
hi Dan, before comenting here, i promise! i read your full write up on this deal and the comments!(i think all )
now, im trying to place my order of…
2 shirts in size ‘x’
and
2 shirts in size’y’
And im not seeing the price go down 40%. Does it make sence that in order to get the 40% off 4 shirts you have to order 4 of the exact same ones?
now, wats if they only have 2 available in that size?
One problem…the pockets. Can they be removed like the option the give you at CT?
@Boruch:
Oh how I tried…
http://www.dansdeals.com/archives/77601
Though I didn’t find anything that seemed to really stand out in my research that you would expect from a city of London’s size:
http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=141.msg1308362#msg1308362
Ha! Good shabbos Dan you’re great man. Ps you obviously haven’t visited gg or hendon in a bit.I think you’ll be presently suprised.
(I purchased one gift card)
Thanks Dan for a great post, it comes out to 4 $92 shirts for 180 after the tax, so thats $45 a shirt
They do seem to be out of stock on some of the traditional fit bigger sizes in white.
Thanks Dan. Once again because of you I got a great deal that otherwise wouldn’t have been able to afford.
Thanks Dan. Got 5 Regularly priced shirts for 152.22 30.44/each originally $69.50. i used JAB until now i liked them, hope i will like these as well.
Anyone know the differences between their different cotton options (i.e., Supima, Egyptian, Sea Island)?
@michael:
Comes out nicer. Especially considering I’ve had several CT shirts bought earlier this year tear in the wash.
@Boruch:
Go enjoy your British shirts with some British cuisine. You’ll be back 😉
CT did used to make good shirts. But many people have been complaining about the longevity of their product of late.
I wouldn’t wear an American shirt if you paid me lol. Go British!
Aside from the quality of the shirt, does it come out of the wash looking as nice as Charles Tyrwhitt? Because I find the way Charles Tyrwhitt comes out is excellent.
You cannot combine the $10 signup discount with the 15% off.
is there a way to add the $10 off they send you for sighning up?
@don:
Traditional is the loosest fit.
which fit is looser the milano or traditional?
@Abe:
You as well.
@A:
I’m pretty sure 90% of the comments on this site are from people who don’t take the time to read the post, c’est la vie.
@Dan I think everyone forgot what it means to read because if instructions were followed half the comments would disappear. This cheshbon of this deal isn’t rocket science.
@Dan: Thank you & have a good shabbos. And HH too….
@Abe:
The GC deal ends today.
The 40%+15% sale ends Sunday.
Dan, I’m kind of late to the party here (& typing this while driving).
I bought the eGC earlier, till when do I have time to purchase this deal, does it have to be today, or can it wait till Sunday?
Thank you,
Abe
Oh Ok thanks, my bad. that was for the $82 shirts not $92
@Jack:
You need to continue to the final checkout page for the discounts to be applied.
Am I missing something? I have 4 non iron shirts from the link you have in my card. Total is coming to $261??!
@aspc:
Yes, it will be refunded to the original form of payment.
Or you can make exchanges.
@Eli:
You are quoting out of context. Please read the paragraph before that and after that.
thanks Dan , but in the post you wrote :
“so the sale brings down the price of those shirts to $41.82 after 40%+15% off (Or as low as $35.67 with discounted gift cards purchased at a 14.3% discount as described below)
so before gift card $187.68 = $46.92 each, NOT $41.82 correct ?
When purchased with a GC and returned, how will the funds be returned, GC?
@Moishe:
I prefer these.
@ei:
@eli:
$187.68 for 4 shirts is 40%+15% off.
The rest of the savings is the 14.3% off for buying $175 in gift cards for $150 to pay for that. That brings the price down to $40 and change per shirt.
hi dan, I don’t see the extra 15% off, my total for 4 non iron shirts is $46.92 each ??
Dan i dont see the extra 15% off , 4 shirts with free shipping total is $187.68 ?
@Dan:
I actually don’t like the starch- I just like them pressed properly.
@Dan (or anyone else)
Does anyone know how these compare with Jos A Bank’s Signature line?
I find that my signature shirts hold up extremely well (as opposed to the executive line which is terrible and the travelers which is decent)
@Aaron:
They’re not going to come out magically starched if that’s how you like them, but they come out of the wash without any wrinkles.
Thanks Dan. They appeared in my Gmail account a few minutes later.
Regarding sending them to the cleaners, I can’t imagine they would come out of the wash like from the cleaners. I purchased the Non-Iron figuring they would wrinkle less while wearing them during the day… No???
@Anonymous:
It’s still working and it doesn’t say 12/24.
It ends tonight at 11:59pm PST
Is the gift card promo still working if it says till 12/24?
@Adena weberman:
It’s added at checkout automatically.
@Kenny:
You would get a gift card.
@jp:
Yes, with shoprunner.
@Don:
Call tomorrow or Sunday.
@Jay:
Read the post.
Will there be a shipping charge for returns?
Thanks for the deal! Just bought 4.
I bought 10 yesterday anyway they would adjust the difference in price?
I tried calling they are closed today any suggestions ?
@AJ
Did you find an answer?
Dan
Free shipping on returns?
If I buy the gift cards and then buy shirts with that, if I return them, do I only get store credit?
I’m confused…where it’s there the original 40% off? I see $59.50 shirts marked down to $44.62 with a further discount once it’s in the cart bit that doesn’t seem like 40% with an additional 15%?
@Mendel:
Some states don’t have tax on clothes, there’s no way to include all rates in the post.
@Charles Borlam:
Why would you send non-iron shirts to be ironed?
The point of these is to save that money.
@Aaron:
Within a few minutes.
Did you check all of your folders and spam?
How long did it take for you to get the gift cards via email.
I purchased 3 $150 gift cards about a half hour and still have not received them. I’m getting nervous….
Please help
@Mosh The corporate discount is only on regular priced items ie will not work on deals like these
I see the 40% off but I don’t see 15% off. dropped the price from 69.50 each to 41.70. how do I get the additional 15%?
You also get $10 for signing up. Can that be added on?
@mike:
In my humble opinion, if you send your shirts to be cleaned or laundered you have no advantage from these shirts. I would stick to 100% cotton, not treated. You will find yourself more comfortable in warm or cold temperatures and less feeling of sweating.
thanks! just ordered 4
Can you add Corporate member discount?
If I bought the gift card and than with the gift card bought shirts what would be the return policy be? Only get money back on gift card or can I get my money back? Can I do a Amex return on the gift card if I want the actual money back?
http://www.dansdeals.com/?
Hey Dan, is there an expiration date on the gift card?
Guys what’s so great about brooks?
Have a stack of ct from last dec still in package
Find quality great
What am I missing?
Do u all buy non iron or regular?
Didn’t see patterns I love
Can i still buy the gift cards and get the $25 bonus if it’s still showing online but says only till 12/24? Will I receive the bonus card?
If I give my shirt to the cleaners any reason to get non iron?
Beware that they charged me tax so my $162 that Dan is talking about ended up ended up being $175
Ordered 4 shirts worked exactly as described. Now going back to sleep.
Also, is there any way to find out…?
Dan,
Any idea if the BB shirts sold on Rue La La last year were the outlet shirts or the retail shirts…?
Please help I’m checking out with PayPal and don’t see a option to enter me gift card
Amazing deal!
So u get free 2 day shipping even without shoprunner
Dan,
It’s says $12 and change remaining balance. Is that correct or I’m missing something?
If I bought shorts with a gift card I can only return it to get another gift card.
Sick deal, worked like a charm!
Thanks I bought the gift cards. Thank you again!!
Worked great! Thanks!
Dan do you have any other suggestions for my problem
@Joseph Chams:
Did you continue to the final checkout page?
It will be $187, but if you buy the gift cards it’ll be effectively $162.
Dan,
I’m at $55.20 a shirt so for 4 shirts it’s $202 after discount is it supposed to be $162?
@Jacob:
No.
could I buy in the outlet store and exchange in the retail store?
@Nathan:
Mine came right away, hidden in the promo folder.
@me again:
Great!
Some of the best prices I’ve ever seen for these shirts.
Worked now. Thanks. This is an awesome deal! I always liked these shirts but couldn’t afford them till now!
I checked all files. It says the delivery date on the e-gift cards are 12/25 so hopefully they come today
@me again:
After you apply one you can enter another one. There doesn’t appear to be any limit!
It doesnt give me the option to enter the second gift card?
@Nathan:
Check all of your various folders in Gmail and/or spam.
I got the 25$ one not the 150$
@Anonymous:
You don’t have any AMEX card?
@Nathan:
The egift card comes right away, check your other folders.
The free shipping is applied on the final checkout page.
Still didn’t get my 150 e-gift card. I also signed into my shoprunner account but it didn’t take off the shipping charges. What’s going on?
Great deal.
Just Had to pay shipping at Brooks ,since i don’t have a shop runner account. Any way to get free shipping at Brooks?
@michael:
You don’t have to wait, everything is live now!
Can someone explain why we have to wait until Saturday to get the low price? Didnt Dan say the 40 and 15 start on Friday?
@YA – it will be 40% off the full price of the shirt (when u buy 4) and then another 15% off on top of that
Worth checking availability of shirts beforehand…especially with sale starting tonight and overlapping with extra 15% off
So if a pair of shoes is now 321 instead of 428 will it go on sale even cheaper for 40% off, or just 15% off the 321?
Does the sale apply to already discounted items?
If I use shoprunner will I get free return shipping? If yes, Could the return label be used to exchange?
BB shirts are gorgeous.
Thanks Dan- great deal and I completely agree with your assessment (BB vs. outlet/CT/BR). I was having trouble buying the gift card with my Brooks credit card (I admit I have one). Did you notice the same? Thx again
Didn’t realize the outlet store shirts were cheaper quality. Good to know.
I got them for 29.99 on Black Friday. Midnight madness
Will have to try the regular BB line
Does anyone have experience with the difference between the fabric of “BrooksCool” vs. the regular non-iron ?
Dan – which ones with your experince are superior ?
Correction dan: The online extra 15% begins tonight 12/25! ITs the in store promotion that begins 12/26.
@Dan: Thanks. I saw that. I was wondering if you had anything to add based on experience (because, as you’ve taught us, that’s what really counts 🙂 ). Apparently not.
@Anonymous:
http://www.brooksbrothers.com/Returns-and-Exchanges/returns-and-exchanges,default,pg.html
@Montey: Dan, Any comments re their return policy? Thanks.
@YY:
BB is my preference by far.
@YY:
What kind of protection do you need on a shirt?
When buying w gift card you lose amex extended protection
Can anyone else comment on quality compare between BR/CT/BB?
I am happy with CT, didnt try others
@Me:
40% off of $92 is $55.20.
@Dan:
Where do you get the price $92/$55.20?
@Me:
Yes, the extra 15% will be sitewide!
I see the dress shirts as $69.50 down to $41.70 with the 40%? So the price will be even lower with the additional 15%?
https://www.brooksbrothers.com/Traditional-Fit-Spread-Collar-Dress-Shirt/E488________WHIT_16H__35__,default,pd.html?Quantity=3&specialHandlingCodeE488________WHIT_16H__35__=NO
@Steve:
The material is not the same. My retail shirts feel much better than my outlet shirts.
And the retail ones have held up much nicer than my outlet ones from a few years ago. I’m not the only one with this experience.
Same goes for Gap and Banana outlet clothes.
There’s a reason they make a separate line for the outlets. They use cheaper materials to get their costs down and charge less.
Dan,
I have checked out Brooks brothers outlet ($79) and retail store shirts ($92).
the material is exactly the same (not including the Egyptian cotton shirt which cost $185)
the only difference is the buttons and the stitching down the button flap
Both stores claim a shirt will last through 60 washes.
the outlet stores presently have a 50-70% off the entire store.
at this sale i have gotten amazing quality brooks brother shirts for $25, a much better steal than the $40 for a retail shirt.
I would love to hear your reasoning why the retail shirts are better then the outlet shirts.
Thank you
@Chaim yankel:
There’s no limit to how many gift cards you can redeem on one purchase.
@RF:
Yes, call them during the sale.
Any way to price match the black Friday deal to this one?
@dan Can you use 2 gift cards on one purchase? The $150 and the $25
People should know that their return policy has changed, and they are extremely strict about returning or exchanging anything that has been opened, unwrapped, or worn. It is really, really unfair
@emak:
Yes.
@Daniel:
10 shirts=$469.20
3 egift cards=$450 out pocket for $525. That leaves you with $55.80 in unused funds.
What about buying 10 shirts and using 3 e gift cards and paying only $39.42 per shirt? Is my math correct?
Are you sure it’s going to be stackable?
Can someone help with comparison to CT as far fit for the Slim/Extra Slim? Are they comparable size-wise?
@Yosef:
It’s not a bonus category.
You can use Shoprunner with the eGCs.
Which cc to use to buy the brooks egift card?
And cab tippy still get the shoprunner shipping deal if you buy with the egift cards?
@yg:
Personally I find BB to be higher quality than BR, which has wildly inconsistent quality.
Banana Republic non-iron are so much better than BB non-iron and cheaper. Always consistent sizing too.
@MN:
Very good, but I doubt they will run out of sizes on the regularly priced shirts as well.
@nachdrock:
I don’t like them, I love them 🙂
But they have both iron and non-iron shirts, just click on the fabric section.
You guys really like non-iron? I find them noticeably hotter and less comfortable in the warmer months.
@Dan: Are they good with exchanges like that? Any experiences?
@MN, BB doesn’t run out of sizes IME. They’re a huge company, and these are not clearance items.
@John:
No.
@Jack:
I’m not aware of other shirts with this level of quality at these prices.
@llurker:
Many online reports reporting the degrading quality there which is a shame. My experience matches that as well.
@MN:
Correct.
Worst case you can buy another size and exchange it when it comes back in stock online or exchange in a store.
So I have to buy the gift card by tomorrow, but I have to wait until Saturday to buy the shirts. If my size gets sold out then I’m stuck with a gift card, right?
I agree with the degrading quality of CT shirts. I wear the white ones on shabbos and they get discolored quickly.
Although this may be a very good deal out there, with all the other options that there are with nicer patterns and on par quality , is this worth it?
Can u buy an gift card with a brooks gift card?
I bought bb gift cards earlier w/the Amex 50 off 200 promo.
