“Doorbusters expiring tonight”
Such a shame so close and yet so far, wish I had known that the Shiloh winery did tours and tastings when we visited Tel Shiloh earlier this year, we were literally a five minutes drive away.
I’ve been growing grapes as a hobby for about 12 years.
One of these days I need to do a proper winery tour in Israel. Tough to do with kids though!
Do you grow grapes in Portland?
I just did the Gush Etziyon Winery tour on Tuesday, so amazing – Restaurant was awesome there too!
I Ordered a case home – I think… it ships with KosherWine.com
I think they make port wine there. Sorry.
Yes, Pinot noir and Pinot Gris grapes which are well suited to the soil and weather here as are a variety of berries and other fruits. The area even has a budding Olive industry.
We have a small orchard with plums, cherries, apples and pear trees. i have a few small olives trees that bear fruit but haven’t attempted to brine them.
When I planted my vines I also planted a brown Turkish fig -buts it’s just symbolic in the dispora.
Oregon has 700 some wineries but we only have one that is Kosher.

One year I even grew the ‘unofficial’ state flower of Oregon – ended up donating most of the harvest to a Veteran struggling with PTSD.
Very cool. My father grew up in Portland and a friend has been bugging us to come out there.
Would love to get into it, but I don’t think I can grow much in CLE đ
Will just have to stick with enjoying the fruits of someone else’s labor.
