Update: The price for this system before tax and shipping has gone down from $499 to $429! You can call Dell for a price adjustment if you bought it previously.
Shipping adds $8 making the total $437. Be sure to add some upgrades that combined with tax and shipping will bump you over $500 which will trigger a $50 refund on your AMEX statement long as you register your card for the Dell promo!
If you are in a tax-free state (lucky you!) just add $63 in upgrades to get to the $500 threshold!

Just ordered 3 computers tx Dan
Where did u find the coupon?
Is this a really good deal?
Sg r u happy with ur purchase so far?
Just got off the phone with Amex and Dell. Dell had separated my charge into 2. Amex wont give the $50 credit, because it needs to be one charge for $500. I tried reasoning with them and got nowhere. Called Dell to change the charge to 1 charge. They also did not budge. Got out of it a $50 coupon though. In addition Dell told me that I can return the monitor for $200 credit. That may be the way to go.
is this a really good deal. i dont really need a computer now but if i get a great deal id get one.
also, which upgrades are really recommended?
thanks guys,
The price of $429 is for the E5500 processor. The $499 was an E7500.
If I buy 3 computers with my amex can I get three 50.00 credits?
@Dan:
Probably.
If they separated my computer and monitor into 2 different charges, can I return the monitor and get back what they charged for the monitor?
@TB:
They lied.
The total price is $469 and you can use a credit card.
Hey, called Dell for a price adjustment and they said that 1. they dont see that the price went down (now its $499) 2. in order to get this promotion you cant buy it with a Credit Card but using their financing, because I used my amex it broke it into 2 orders it gave the base price for the Vostro and CHARGED for the screen.
Anyway just figured I’ld share.
@SG:
You should be able to call AMEX and tell them what happened. Your original receipt should show a charge over $500, so you can always send that to AMEX if there’s a problem.
Let us know what they say!
They separated my order into two different charges, so neither is $500. How do i fix this?
>jo: all standard systems come with an ethernet card which allow you to do what you need.
i have not shopped for a pc in a while. Is this a really good deal or could I do better for $500?
Does this system price come with an included network card to connect my computer to my router via an ethernet cable?
