Is it better to get one like this with a hard shell, or the soft shell? I know the hard shell has better protection, but can it be harder to squeeze into the overhead compartment if there isn’t enough room?

28-29″ are what you’re looking for, but don’t overpack them or you’ll be over the 50 lb. limit.
Did not work.
They seem to have switched discount codes to SAVEMORE giving an additional 25%-35% off (“SPEND $100 GET 25%, SPEND $150 GET 30%, SPEND $200 GET 35%”). That’s still over $100 each when buying 2 of the larger ones.
